Astroglide - lubricant discontinued by BioFilm - review by keeping it spicy

Use
Astroglide is a great go to lube when you need something and you are out of your regular lube. You can grab a bottle at walmart or any local store fairly inexpensively and it’ll certainly get the job done. . I find it works better than KY which is usually your other choice. Works well for lubing up toys for vaginal or anal play. Also great for vaginal dryness during sex.
It’s a water-based lubricant so cleanup is easy. It does get kind of sticky so the fact that it is easy to clean off is a huge plus.

Texture / Thickness
Very slippery and slick. It has a nice texture on the body. At first it does feel very similar to a woman’s own fluid but it starts to get sticky and a bit stringy quickly.
Because it is really slippery it works really well on most of the toys that we use. But you will want to wipe your hands off before you grab the toy because it makes them pretty slick. It’s a bit hard to get off of porous toys so you may want to use a different lube on those ones.

A little bit goes a long way because the glide doesn’t really stay exactly where you put it so if you use too much it does tend to run away on you. So be prepared for messy sheets.

Taste / Aroma
Astroglide is not the best tasting lube on the market. At first it’s almost sweet but it gets bitter fast and leaves a gross residue in your mouth. Probably better to do all your oral action before you put this lube on since the taste lingers in your mouth and interferes with other flavours. There is some speculation that glycerine in lubes can cause yeast infections in some women so that is something to take into account if you are prone to them.

Performance
Overall it works. Since the bottle is easy to manipulate with one hand it is really easy to reapply when needed. The initial slick feeling glides on really well, and feels great until it starts to slip away. Then you need to reapply. I would prefer my lube to not need to be reapplied since that can be a bit of a pain which is why this is not my favourite lube if given a choice.

Packaging
The bottle is nice enough looking. Easy to handle. The top cap is easy to flip up with one hand while you are busy doing other things. The hole at the top is a bit large so you tend to get quite a big dollop of glide on your finger if you squeeze it to hard so be careful of that since it can get pretty messy.

It does get really sticky and I found we have to reapply often when we switch positions or if things are taking a bit of time.

Although it isn’t my favourite glide, I certainly go to it in a pinch and it gets the job done when you need it.

The more I use other glides, the more I see what I don't really like about this glide. I still like how convenient it is to get, but it definitely isn't my go to lube.
