Swiss navy silicone lubricant - lubricant discontinued by MDScience Lab LLC - review by Red Riding Hood

This is a simple silicone lubricant that has no fancy additives or effects. It's not the best I've used and it didn't really suit me. For the price, it's a good buy, but I just didn't feel it was as good as others. The best part about it was the bottle it came in! I used it for anal, manual stimulation, toys and I TRIED to use it on my chest which irritated the hell out of me as most silicones do. I felt it didn't last long enough to completely satisfy me with any of the above uses.

The texture is much too thin for my liking. For one it's hard to place. The bottle makes it easier, but I've used the smaller size as well which has a flip-top lid. The lube just poured out with very little control over where it went! It also doesn't last that long. It has a nice thin slip if you're looking for something that doesn't get sticky. But if you want something that will last longer than 10-15 minutes, you're out of luck. Now I've had some lubes that lasted about the same time, but there were other pluses to those lubricants. This one just doesn't deliver in many areas. It doesn't really get sticky. But I'd almost rather revive water-based with plain water than to use this silicone lube.

The taste was probably the least bothersome of all of the silicones I've tasted. I try to avoid it, but it does happen. I could barely taste this, but it did have a hint of plastic that wasn't so great. As far as the smell, I could only REALLY smell it if I put my nose right to it. Not a bother at all.

It performed okay while it lasted. Being so thin, it didn't feel natural at all. I tend to like my silicone lubes to be a bit thicker. It was super easy to clean and didn't stain anything which was a plus! I suppose that's what I liked best about it. It got all over my sheets and didn't stain anything. However, with it being so thin, it was a bummer when trying to attempt anal and even more so when my skin became irritated.

I don't bother reviewing the packaging on most lubes, as the bottles are usually similar. This however, has a smart design in the bigger bottles. You have a nifty little pump which locks in place. Being the dork I am, I ended up cleaning this bottle out when the lube was gone and replacing it with a lube I liked better. I figured out that one pump was the perfect amount for silicone for me and two was my ideal for waterproof. I had my own little system going with this nifty thing. Size-wise I wouldn't say it's EASY to travel with, but with the pump locking in place, it certainly provides a lot more reliable leakage protection than other bottles.
