Astroglide is a great water based lubricant for those who are looking to experiment with lube. This lubricant is wonderful for everyone to use for masturbation, during play with toys, fingers, or sex in general. If you are looking to try anal, I would suggest this lubricant as a small amount goes a long way and the consistency of the lubricant leaves the area slick for a decent amount of time. Though, with anal, I would suggest continuously adding a small dime sized amount to the anus to make penetration easier on the muscles and to avoid rupturing anything due to dryness.

Astroglide is compatible with almost all toys. I find that the best toys to use this lubricant with are toys that are non-porous, though, such as silicone and glass. If you decide to use Astroglide with toys made from jelly, TPR, etc., I would suggest putting a condom over the toy before applying the lubricant. It makes for easier clean up once play is finished.

If you are allergic to water-based lubricants, do not use Astroglide. Astroglide is also made with Purified Water, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Aspartame, Methylparaben, and Sodium Benzoate, so if you have an allergy to any of the ingredients I would suggest using a different lubricant.

The lubricant is extremely thick and rather gooey once it is squeezed from the container. Pouring it from the container is easy, as the lubricant easily slides out and onto the fingers, penis, vagina, anus, etc., or what you choose to use it for. It stays in place rather well as it is thick; though once it is spread it has the tendency to spread everywhere. I found that pouring a generous amount (about the size of a quarter) is too much to be used for masturbation. If you are planning on using it to lubricate multiple items, a quarter size will do the trick. If you plan to only lubricate one item (say a dildo) squeezing out a dollop the size of a dime should work to coat the shaft.

It is extremely slick. If you plan on using a toy for masturbation I would suggest wiping your hands clean of the lubricant before play. Leaving your hands lubricated will cause the toy to slip out of your grasp repeatedly and can make masturbation rather frustrating. If you do not like messy lubricant that has the potential to get on sheets and other places besides the place intended for use, I would suggest shopping other lubricants.

For the love of the taste buds, do not lick or taste Astroglide. It is extremely bitter, much like the taste of that awful red soap that mothers used to wash the mouths of children with. There are no other tastes to the lubricant besides pure awfulness disguised as thick, clear, slippery goodness. Aside from the horrid taste, there is really no smell to the lubricant. For those of you who prefer the scented lubricants, Astroglide may not appeal to your sense of smell.

Even after playing for over two hours with several different toys, Astroglide kept the toys slick and lubricated for continuous use. This lubricant has the tendency to last through extended play until it is washed away. When it comes to washing the lubricant off, once the lubricant makes contact with soap and water it's a done deal. The lubricant washes away clean and leaves toys and skin clean with no residue.

For me, it takes me a rather long time to get through masturbation and sex. The fact that this lubricant kept me slick, as well as my toys, for over two hours at a time was impressive for me. There was no hassle of applying more, though I did anyway for my own personal taste, or the worry of it drying up during sex. The lubricant seemed to work with the chemicals in my vaginal fluids and kept its consistency throughout use.

The only thing that takes away from the lubricant is the God awful taste. The taste stayed in my mouth for a few hours and did not fade away after multiple rinses and brushings. It seemed to stick, much like the lubricant does during play.

I gave this lubricant a Bee rating of two because of the noise that can be heard during sex. The lubricant, while doing its job to lubricate, leaves the hands, vagina, anus, etc. slick and can cause a "fwapping" noise during use.
