Phenomenal for sensitive skin

I've never used another lube that is as good, and certainly nothing better. It feels great on my (very sensitive) skin, and works as well or better than most chemical lubes. And I don't worry about eating it, as it is all-natural, tasteless, and odorless. In short: perfect.
Published: July 12, 2010
Pros:
Hypo-allergenic, all natural, no taste or smell, works.
Cons:
A bit pricier than some, but WELL worth it for me.

Use

This is great for masturbation (women or men), vaginal intercourse, and doesn't hinder oral (in fact it makes blow jobs enjoyably slipperier). I wouldn't recommend it for anal because it just isn't thick enough for me. And I don't think it would be useful in the shower, because it's water-based and washes off easily, but I haven't actually tried it.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

It feels like 100% aloe vera gel does. It's not as slimy as some, it's gooier. It doesn't dry down to that uncomfortable stickiness that creates, rather than alleviates, unwanted friction. Sliquid stays where you put it. It's never greasy, because it doesn't contain grease. And it makes your skin feel GREAT afterward.

Taste / Aroma

It really has almost no taste or smell. I think the most noticeable note, if any, is aloe... with maybe a little lemon or green tea. There's not a whole lot to identify here. It smells and tastes VERY clean, with no flowers, or fruit, or sweetness.

Performance

There are three reasons that I buy this lube exclusively:

1) I have really sensitive skin. I have unpleasant reactions to most smelly, chemical-infused lotions, body washes, makeup, shampoo... you get the picture. So finding a lube that doesn't sting or make me itch is somewhat complicated. Sliquid is absolutely that. There's NOTHING objectionable in it! My body loves it. I don't even need to wash it off after; it's like multipurpose vag conditioner.
2) Applying Sliquid doesn't foreclose the possibility of oral. My guy and I tend to mix things up in bed, so it's pretty likely that, at some point in the proceedings, one or both of us will want to put mouth to something that has been lubed up. And if your lube tastes terrible it really discourages variation. Sliquid tastes like nothing, and the consistency isn't bad in your mouth. It doesn't stick unpleasantly in the back of your throat. It's not going to make my stomach hurt if I swallow some of it, either.
3) It works! It lasts for quite a while. I wish I could give you some number of minutes, but it's all variable based on how much air is touching it and how much I'm helping it along with my own personal blend. It's water-based, so yes, eventually it does evaporate some. However, it can be reactivated with a little saliva. And the bottle tends to last a while; a little goes a long way.

I recommend it whole-heartedly, based not on my personal leaning toward natural products, but based exclusively on Sliquid's functionality.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural

Packaging

At the end of the bottle, it can be a little tough to get the last of the lube out. The bottle is just thin enough to squeeze.
    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Recyclable

Would you say this lube is compatible with latex condoms?

Hey, glad you liked the review. This is a water-based lube, so it won't bother latex at all. This is lovely with a condom.

  • Vegan? Awesome. but humanly ethical?
    • are any of the ingrediants fair trade?
    • Your best bet to get answers to questions like this is to either ask the Eden staff via support ticket, or contact the manufacturers directly.

I'd do some research on them, even send your question in to the company. That'd probably get you somewhere? I really don't know much about them. I've tried a couple lubes, but didn't even like em.

  • Too Sticky
    • Ive tried about every lubricant known to man at this point.. I can't find one that I like. They're too sticky, too runny, leaves a residue behind, dries out after too short of a time period. Im frustrated....Anyone have some good suggestions for me? Thanks!
    • I like the sliquid line, as I too have problems with sticky lube and tacky residue from them. I've only tried a few so far, the Sliquid Organics Silk is the best of them for this. The Sliquid Organics Gel only got sticky once on me, when I accidentally added way too much lube (was reviewing a toy that was larger than I am used to).
    • I like the Wet Synergy, the Shunga Toko Aroma, and the Fun Factory Body Fluid. To me, none of these have been sticky, although the Synergy and Body Fluid will probably leave a "residue" because they both have silicone in them. However I've found that wiping with a wipe has removed any of the residue that I was feeling.

    • We've used the naturals, how are the organics? Better, worse, same?

I would like to know that too, I would also like to know the best natural types and what are the main differences between naturals and organics.
    • This is also of interest to me - I just ordered the naturals, but this organic gel caught my eye too.. wondering how it's different/better, if it is at all.

  • Expiration date?
    • What would be the shelf life of these?
    • I'm not an expert on lube but I usually toss stuff after one year. If it smells funny or anything you might toss it even sooner.
    • Yea I agree. Most of them dont really say much. But I wouldnt keep them in really hot or humid areas and sounds about right to tosss em out if you see anything different. (scent, color, etc)

Right, that's a water based lubricant.
