Probe Me!
This is a fine water-based lubricant. Less is definitely more with this product and it will last as long as you do when you use it.Published: February 15, 2009
Pros:
Long-lasting, thick, water-based, condom-safe
Cons:
Contains glycerin
Water-based lubes are the only lubes I am comfortable using. Up until I discovered Probe, I had been using K-Y jelly and some of the various Wet lubricants--none of which pleased me. When I found Probe on this website, I was interested because I'd always desired a "thick" lube. To me, the thicker the better.
Probe Thick & Rich comes in a nice sized bottle and has a convenient flip-cap for easy access in the heat of the moment. It has no noticeable smell and I couldn't sense much of a flavor, though non-flavored lubes tend not to be formulated for this anyway. The consistency is almost exactly like my own lubrication that I produce when I become wet. It's gooey, thick, and slippery! When you pour some of the lube into your hand though, you have to kind of fight with the bottle to break that little string of wetness. It's pretty funny.
While using Probe Thick & Rich, it took very little for me to be able to slip my toys in with ease and comfort. And it felt great! It felt like there wasn't any lube there at all, just my own natural wetness. When I was finished, any lube I got on my hands eventually absorbed somewhat and washed right out with water, making my hands feel silky.
I advocate the use of water-based lubes because they're safe with condoms and for all types of materials of toys. I have yet to use this lube for intercourse or anal sex, but if I do, and I am sure I will, I will update this review with details. Judging by its name alone, I think it would be excellent for anal play. It is so gentle. I look forward to trying other lubes, but for now, this is my ideal one. It does contain glycerin however, which can react with some people. I've had no troubles!
Probe is wonderful. Plain and simple. Get yourself some and enjoy. I did!

Vegetable Glycerin?
-
I've been trying to find a nice lube with safe ingrediants but so far i've found very few and even those have been question. I've read that Vegetable Glycerin is made from vegetable oil and is good for the skin. But i've read that Glycerin can cause skin irritant in some people and in concentrated solutions can damage the mucous membranes. Is there a deffernce with Vegetable Glycerin and just plain Glycerin? or is it the same thing? Is it safe enough to use in lubes? What other ingrediants should i be warry about?

Glycerin is glycerin no matter where it comes from. Calling it vegetable glycerin is an attempt to trick you into thinking its something different. It may have different impurities, coming from a different source, but its still glycerin.

Glycerine is a component that is found in ALL animal and plant cells (including your own cells).
By specifying vegetable glycerin, the manufacturer is only trying to convey that the source of the glycerin is vegan friendly to those who have such concerns. But the chemical itself is the same.
I included a write up of several lube ingredients that people often seek to avoid in one of my reviews (look under the Personal Comments section). I also included links to reliable resources for checking any chemical about which anyone might have concerns. Here's the link to the review: link
Perhaps the descriptions of the various ingredients might be helpful.

Thank you for viewing Probe Thick and rich – water based lube review page!

Thick lubes really can make a difference, but you're the first I've heard say that it resembles your natural lubrication. Maximus is another thick lube that is worth trying out. The pump top is very nice as well, but one has to opt for the 17 oz Probe bottle to get that. Thanks for the review.
Thank you~
How is Maximus in comparison to this lube?
You know, my husband says this is the closest lube he's found to my natural lubricant as well. I don't really know whether or not I share his sentiments, but it's nice for him to see that he's not alone in his opinions!
We've looked at this lube. Glycerin worries me though.
great review
