Probe Thick and Rich vegetable based lube.

This is probably the thickest water-based lube you can buy. It's worth the money if the stringiness doesn't scare you. It's even worth it despite the cap. It doesn't have flashy packaging or obscene pictures on the bottle. This is an ideal lube for those who find thinner lubes difficult to apply neatly.

Use

Some great uses, and some not so great uses. First, this stuff works great when used in contact with a bodily orifice. Works wonders for anal, vaginal and if the feel of it in your mouth doesn't bother you, it can boost oral. Some of the not so great uses include any toy in contact with a penis or as a jerk-off lube due to it's tendency to dry up when in contact with air. This doesn't happen with bodily orifices because they have their own moisture. You can use it on virtually any toy safely as well as condoms. It does not work as well on sleeves, pocket vagina, or pumps very well because it does evaporate within a few minutes without contact with a mucous membrane.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Thick and rich describes it exactly. The thick and the rich part comes in due to Probe's high viscosity and cohesion. The cohesion also lends to quite a bit of draw and makes this lube extremely stringy. The thickness feels very slippery with a pronounced friction. Pouring is easy, but due to it's stringy-ness, the cap and whatever else comes in line with the bottle and your target will get a string of lube on it. It's a standard toggle-pop cap used in many shampoo bottles. I believe Probe needs its own special cap and spout to be perfect. It does tend to run, though slowly. When it dries up, it does get slightly sticky. Though a few drops of water brings it back to slippery. The main ingredient in this is vegetable based glycerin. Think of okra. Yes, it's like that. I believe this is the formula they used to make alien spit in the movie "Aliens".

Taste / Aroma

There is really no aroma to speak of. It looks clear and taste is more of a tongue-feel really very similar to Astroglide. Be warned that getting this in the back of your throat may take some getting used to. It's a strange sensation and could make some gag due to its thickness and viscosity.

Performance

A dime sized drop will do in most situations. Though if it frequently contacts air without a replenishing moisture source like the anus, vagina, or mouth, it will dry up within a minute or two. It works best with a bodily orifice. It's performance is not so great as a male jerk-off lube or sleeve lube because of it's tendency to dry up. Clean-up is easy with plenty of water.

Packaging

The bottle looks like a boutique shampoo or conditioner except for its label which states what it is. It's cap is also a standard toggle-pop top. This isn't the best suited for this type of lube. There is a safety seal under the cap which is easy to remove. I do like the bottle, but the cap needs work.

Nice review - we've started using this and love it. We find the stringiness to be kind of like pre-cum
