Use

This lubricant is best used anally, and should work well for anyone. It provides a wet and long-lasting, yet non-sticky coating to both toys and flesh alike. Climax Bursts Anal is water-based, so it can be safely used with silicone and most other toys. It is also glycerin-free, but does contain some amount of talc, so you may not want to use it vaginally.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Climax has a nice texture. It isn’t runny and comes out of the dispenser about the consistency of hair gel. It stays put and doesn’t drip, nor does it run when covering an anal toy or plug.

Climax doesn’t feel oily or greasy, and has small white beads of Vitamin E suspended throughout. The beads pop gently between your fingers.

Taste / Aroma

Surprisingly, Climax has no smell at all. Although I wouldn’t recommend eating this, it is tasteless, although it feels strangely slick on your tongue.

Performance

I use Climax mostly on my anal plugs that are going to stay in for a while, and it’s kept them comfortable for up to 2 hours at a time. The plugs still had a bit of Climax on them when removed, which was easily cleaned off with soap and water.

Climax seems to last longer on metal toys over silicone, but it made insertion and removal much easier than my standard KY on both materials. It doesn’t seem to have stained anything yet, from underwear to throes.

Packaging

Climax Bursts Anal comes in a see-through 4 ounce bottle. The Vitamin E beads make it look bubbly. The bulb on the top is easy to lift to get the product out, and the lubricant extrudes easily with gentle pressure on the sides of the bottle. Make sure to remove the underlying seal before trying to use it the first time!

Climax doesn’t scream “I’m an anal sex lube!”, although I wouldn’t just leave it lying on my bathroom counter. If you take this in a suitcase, I’d recommend bagging it in a zip-close baggie to ensure the lid doesn’t come open and the product come out.

Experience

I wanted a water-based anal lubricant, since I have a lot of silicone anal toys. This is the first lubricant I’ve tried that’s specifically for anal; previously I’ve used KY for lubricating everything. This worked really well on both silicone dildos and plugs. It didn’t seem to dissipate as quickly as KY, and it worked great with metal plugs as well. I didn’t seem to need as much of this, and it was a lot thicker than KY.

We also tried Climax during anal sex. My husband preferred this to our usual lubricant, because it stayed in place around my anus and wasn’t dripping on everything. He liked the slick feel of it as well, and found it cleaned off easily.
Follow-up commentary
This is my go-to lube for anal play of any sort. I love the consistency and the little bursting beads. It performs better than anything I've tried yet for anal play, staying in place, providing a good coating, and not drying out.
