Sliquid organics natural - lubricant by Sliquid, LLC - review by Love Perpetua

I used to think all lubes were created equal. When I needed to stock up I would stop by the drugstore, where I purchased condoms, and grab whatever was cheapest. Then I would wonder why, unless I was seriously lubed up on my own, I could only have sex for about 5 minutes before the irritation and burning sensations would set in. It would be a race to orgasm before that and I was largely unsuccessful. I was also frequenting my doctors office with UTIs, which I assumed was the fault of my poor vagina, who I cursed.

And then I tried Sliquid, and became a convert. It never irritates, feels completely natural and is even moisturizing. I use this for everything (everything I need lube for, that is). While it's not ideal for butt play, since it is rather thin, it does replicate my natural vaginal lubrication quite nicely. I use it every time I play with my dildos. I like to rub some Sliquid around the inside of my lips, coat the toy, and go to town. Since it is water-based, you can use this with any toy or person you want. I think it is best used for vaginal penetration or applied to a clitoral vibrator for some extra slip. Although can be used for anal (and I have used it that way), I wouldn't recommend it specifically as an anal lube. But for vaginal or clitoral play, people with sensitive skin, vegans, or those who stick to organic ingredients, it is freaking fabulous!

Sliquid is a thin, silky-smooth lubricant that pours easily from the flip top. It feels completely natural, but since it is pretty thin, it will drip. I don't mind this because it does not get sticky, greasy, or stain, so if it drips somewhere unintended, no harm done. It can simply be rubbed in or left to dry and will leave skin moisturized rather than tacky.

There is no discernible scent or taste to this lubricant. (Yes, I did a taste test, just for you!)I love this because it means it is completely oral-friendly, unlike some lubes which have an awful bitter or rubbery taste. This also means that if you want to switch between penetration and oral, you won't have any nasty taste in your mouth.

The best part about the product is that I don't need to wash it off after use. It never leaves my skin sticky or needs to be washed off with soap and water. If there is excess, I just rub it around and it seems to disappear into my skin, leaving it soft, smooth, and moisturized. You could also do a light wash with plain water and it would easily rinse off. However, I wouldn't say this is the most long-lasting lube. I either apply copious amounts or reapply at least once during a long play session. In general, I think water-based lubes tend to disappear faster than their silicone counterparts, so if you use glass, stainless steel, or mostly use lube for partner sex, you might prefer a silicone lube. Since most of my toys are silicone, I stick to water-based lube, and Sliquid is my favorite.

I think the packaging is beautiful and subtle. The bottle is kind of a dark amber color, but still slightly transparent. In order to check the amount of lube remaining, I just hold it up to a light and I can clearly tell. The label is also classy, and doesn't scream SEX LUBE, so I feel pretty comfortable just leaving it on my nightstand (unless I have some extraordinarily snoopy people coming over). No one gives it a second look between my water bottle, lotion, and various other things I leave on my bedside table. It has a listing of the natural, organic and vegan ingredients on the back and the packaging is recyclable, which I love. It also has a convenient snap open top, which seals well for travel, but is also easy to open with one hand so I can easily grab and reapply it during play time.

Strange but true: this helped me get rid of a stubborn ingrown hair! I had tried almost everything, from manual and chemical exfoliation to special bikini zone creams. Finally gave up and just started rubbing leftover Sliquid around the whole area because it felt so nice and moisturizing. A week later, I was able to scrape it right out! Neither here nor there, but I just wanted to share my (really weird) experience.
