When things just aren't as smooth, slick, or pleasurable as you want them to be, a little lubricant is always in order. But not just any lube will do. When you're in the middle of a hot n' heavy sexcapade, a solo session with your favorite toy, or your hands are tied-up to the bedpost and you can't re-apply, the last thing you want is for things to "run dry" at the wrong time. You need lube that's toy versatile, long-lasting, not tacky, and slick as hell! Meet Colt Slick.

For those of you who are new to lubes, or have only had experience with over-the-counter lubes such as Astroglide, K-Y Jelly, or ID Glide's Wet, one use of Colt slick will open your eyes to a whole new world of slip-sliding fun.

For those of you used to a thicker lube, like K-Y Jelly, you'll instantly notice how much thinner Colt is. Colt is definitely designed for action, and its thinner viscosity allows it to slide with you as you stroke, pump, or rub away! This means no more annoying globs of lube to work with, or too much in the wrong place. A few large beads spread on your hand, cock, or favorite toy will more then get things ready to go!

If you typically use Astroglide or ID Glide's Wet, the biggest difference you'll notice is Colt's smooth and silky texture. ID Glide feels a lot like...well, lube, and it doesn't really meld well with you when used. Colt, on the other hand, is not intrusive. It feels much more like natural lubrication, and the silky and smooth texture works with you, not against you. If it wasn't for the temperature difference when applied, you almost wouldn't know it's there!

Texture aside, the biggest quality that makes Colt a clear winner over any of the above lubes is longevity. ID Glide, and some other popular lubes, are notorious for having a short life span. Such is not the case with Colt. It has enough stamina to hold-up to quite a bit of abuse - whether during a wall-banging romp in the bedroom, a five minute quickie with a toy, or an extra added touch before the "big" release. The only time we have to re-apply frequently is if we're using a lube-hungry masturbation sleeve, or if we're having one of our all-night-long sex marathons! Otherwise, a moderate amount goes a very long way, and the 16.5oz bottle should last a long, long time.

We've always preferred water-based lubes, like Colt, over silicone lubes to avoid unwanted toy material interactions and messy cleanups. If you are used to the supreme longevity that silicone lubes provide, Colt is "similar" but may not be as evenly matched. However, Colt will be a trusty accomplice for when you can't use your favorite silicone lubes, or when you're looking for a slightly different feel.

Since this is a lube designed for action, and not a flavored or scented lube, Colt does not really rank highly in the great taste/great aroma category. That said, it is certainly not a major drawback, either. Since we mainly use this for our toys or as an extra little boost during a full-on romp, we haven't had much exposure to the flavor. When we have, it's been minimal, and Colt's taste is light, and on-par with what a non-flavored lube should be: bland. So, we would not recommend it for oral, as it does nothing to enhance the flavor or sensations that other warming/cooling or flavored lubes do well.

Colt does have a very slight odor that smells...like most other sex lubes. It's not sour, sweet, or smell like the doctor's office, but does have that slight "just put some lube on" scent. This is usually slightly noticeable when first applied, and either blends with your natural aroma or wears-off fairly quickly during use.

As mentioned earlier, Colt has a clear and definite advantage in the longevity department. Having used ID Glide in the past, we were pleasantly surprised how much better Colt performed. The first thing we notices is how much less lube we needed to get things in motion. To give you a rough idea, we used to use a nickel to quarter-sized amount of Glide during intercourse, and now we can achieve the same performance (or better) with about half. Usually, three small eraser-sized drops will do it for us when we're trying to blend with natural juices. For masturbation sessions with a pocket pussy or sleeve, it really depends on how long we go. We can usually get away with a quarter to half-dollar sized amount, since some sleeves tend to soak-up more lube, instead of a tablespoon or more of Glide!

Another area where Colt beats Glide is that does not get tacky or sticky, and is most apparent when used with pocket pussies or sleeves. Nothing ruins the moment more than when a lube gets tacky and clings to you, or the toy, and causes unneeded irritation. This was one of our biggest pet peeves, since Glide never really meshed with your own body very well. Once it got tacky, the mood was killed. Colt, on the other hand, performs well in this category and allows you to play without the worry of getting stuck to something!

That said, there is only one small drawback to Colt: it deteriorates quickly when it is close to wearing out. This again is most apparent when used with pocket pussies and sleeves, or times when natural juices are not there to help-out. If you don't pay attention and identify it's about to wear out, you could go from slick to stopped in 5 seconds!

Performance aside, Colt has also treated us very well in the compatibility and cleanup department. We've had zero issues with toy, condom or solo use, and we've spilled gallons (ok, maybe not that much) on our sheets, and elsewhere, and managed to remove the lube easily from our toys and accessories with soap and water or by promptly placing linens, sheets, or lingerie in the washer.

Colt's packaging is straightforward, as it should be, but not very discreet. It comes in a clear plastic bottle with a flip-top cap that has COLT SLICK in giant red and black letters...try explaining that to airport security. All the information, including ingredients is clearly printed on the front and back. If you have specific allergies, please consult the ingredient list to ensure satisfaction.

Since we are not a fan of pumps, and some squeeze bottles can often waste product, Colt's cap is easy to use and dispense what you need when you need it. The only downside is once your hands are lubed-up with Colt, they're too slippery to close the bottle! (But that's a good thing, right?) You can also unscrew Colt's flip-top cap to dispense an obscene amount, should you need it for greco-roman wrestling, dining-room bobsledding, or whatever else floats your boat. Due to our toy storage constraints, we store Colt on its side in a drawer. To this day, have have had zero issues with leaks or spills, which is nice. We did not have that same kind of luck with other lubes, which are currently double-bagged in Ziplocs to keep lube from seeping all over.

Overall, Colt surprised us and surpassed our expectations. It has become our new swiss army knife of lubes, and we enjoy using it whenever needed. We highly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade from a basic lube, while still getting a lot of bang for the buck! Very few other lubes can offer the same qualities for the price!

Since we're not into anal play, we obviously can't comment on whether or not this lube is suited for it. Our best suggestion for those of you interested in it for anal use would be to evaluate your preferences in thickness and viscosity and then choose accordingly.
