Use

A body-safe, thicker lubricant, friendly with all kinds of toys and all kinds of play, Sliquid presents its first Organic Gel Lubricant. Beautifully packaged and slick as ever, its natural ingredients are not only kind to you, but good for you.
No parabens and no glycerin mean this is a step above the rest. Like all Sliquid products, the Gel form is Vegan friendly, and carries only the ingredients you need.

For those of you set on water-based lubes, or venturing into activities that require sturdier lubrication, there's Sliquid gel.

It's not good for use underwater, as it will simply wash away, being waterbased. For underwater play you'll want a silicone gel.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Though it's called a 'gel,' it doesn't pour as thick as what you may be thinking. It's no hair gel, but it's no thin oil either. Sliquid Gel pours the about the same as regular lubes, though it does hold up on its own a bit more. It's a bit more 'firm,' you could say.

Gliding on, the lube is silky sexy smooth. It glides effortlessly, and mimics natural lubrication. The plant cellulose is felt in its slight tackiness... near-sliminess, even. It absorbs rather quickly into the skin if left alone in small amounts for even a moment or two. Still, as it's waterbased, a dab of saliva or water will get it going again.
    • Slick
    • Smooth

Taste / Aroma

No taste or smell to be had here! Despite the plant extracts, this is pleasantly unscented and has no taste to speak of. This makes Sliquid Gel a nice neutral lube; once again, quite friendly!
    • No smell
    • No taste

Performance

The waterbased nature of this means that pumping its volume up - making it thicker - is almost a must, if you want it to last. This gel is thicker than Sliquids usual waterbased lubes, and as such it doesn't absorb into the skin as quickly as its thinner counterparts. Still, it will absorb within a moment or two, especially when in a thin layer. Therefore, you'll need to reapply during sex, especially anal, and/or reactivate the lube with saliva or water.

It does absorb nicely, however, so you'll never need to wash this off. No greasy or sticky residue is left over here.

The feel of Sliquid Gel on your nether-regions so nearly mimics your own lubrication, you'll think you're having your first romp as a teenager again. The natural ingredients aid and abet that lovely feat.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Dries up too fast
    • Feels natural

Packaging

The perfect little 4.2 oz, 125 ml bottle I purchased is marvelous. The push-button cap holds the lube at bay until you need its powers of seduction, at which point a one-handed motion dispenses as much as you need with ease. A slight squeeze and/or a slight inversion of the bottle and you're ready to go. The cap doesn't allow for leaks, which is definitely a plus. However, this thicker gel does tend to crust-up around the cap's spout, but only slightly. It's nothing that can be seen until the cap is opened. No boogers on your lube bottle - not to worry.

One drawback is the metallic safety seal which is nearly impossible to break with simply a finger or teeth, which is most likely all you'll have handy in the heat of the moment. Break it before your first play session and you'll leave that awkwardness in the trash.

The label is pretty, artistically done, and discreet enough that no one will notice it even if it sits on your shelf. The dainty size and the leakless bottle render Sliquid Gel pleasantly travel-friendly.

The bottle is also recyclable if your city accepts '1' category plastics.

Special Features

Sliquid is famous for their all-natural ingredients. Here we have:

Purified Water, Plant Cellulose (from Cotton), Organic Aloe Barbadensis, Natural Tocopherols (Vitamin E), Cyamopsis (Guar Conditioners), Organic Extracts of Hibiscus, Flax, Green Tea & Sunflower Seed, Citric Acid (Citrus Fruits)

See, aren't those friendly ingredients? If you're not reading the Latin name, they're all completely easy to pronounce, and none of the ingredient names include numbers! Always a plus. When you're putting something in your most absorbent bits, it's gotta be safe.

Personal comments

I'm pretty happy to have an all natural lube that won't mess with my vagina's own balance and cause me health problems. The sheer small number of ingredients in this lube were a lure for me. So many lubes throw in all forms of sugar, or oils, which provide a breeding ground for bacteria in the environment of your dark, damp nether-regions. Most lubes contain harsh ingredients. Why place funky chemicals in your treasure box? Funky chemicals are known for wreaking havoc. I prefer to play on the safe side.

This is also an okay lube for transitioning from vaginal to anal sex. It's thick enough that I don't have to reach for the anal-only lube, and gentle enough that I can use it for vaginal intercourse. I just wish it would last a bit longer. Still, for a waterbased lube, this is about as good as I've seen so far.
Follow-up commentary
This is still a great lube. It's not THE best for anal just because it's not super thick, but for a water-based, super safe, natural lube, it's the best I've found. Next to no cleanup needed, it's thick enough, no smell, no taste, just pure lube.

The only drawback I've found is that it does sometimes clog up the spout with dried lube. It's a little sticky and a little icky when that happens, but otherwise, this is a perfect lube! Sliquid is always a safe bet when looking for lube.

  • Vegan? Awesome. but humanly ethical?
    • are any of the ingrediants fair trade?
    • Your best bet to get answers to questions like this is to either ask the Eden staff via support ticket, or contact the manufacturers directly.

I'd do some research on them, even send your question in to the company. That'd probably get you somewhere? I really don't know much about them. I've tried a couple lubes, but didn't even like em.

  • Too Sticky
    • Ive tried about every lubricant known to man at this point.. I can't find one that I like. They're too sticky, too runny, leaves a residue behind, dries out after too short of a time period. Im frustrated....Anyone have some good suggestions for me? Thanks!
    • I like the sliquid line, as I too have problems with sticky lube and tacky residue from them. I've only tried a few so far, the Sliquid Organics Silk is the best of them for this. The Sliquid Organics Gel only got sticky once on me, when I accidentally added way too much lube (was reviewing a toy that was larger than I am used to).
    • I like the Wet Synergy, the Shunga Toko Aroma, and the Fun Factory Body Fluid. To me, none of these have been sticky, although the Synergy and Body Fluid will probably leave a "residue" because they both have silicone in them. However I've found that wiping with a wipe has removed any of the residue that I was feeling.

    • We've used the naturals, how are the organics? Better, worse, same?

I would like to know that too, I would also like to know the best natural types and what are the main differences between naturals and organics.
    • This is also of interest to me - I just ordered the naturals, but this organic gel caught my eye too.. wondering how it's different/better, if it is at all.

  • Expiration date?
    • What would be the shelf life of these?
    • I'm not an expert on lube but I usually toss stuff after one year. If it smells funny or anything you might toss it even sooner.
    • Yea I agree. Most of them dont really say much. But I wouldnt keep them in really hot or humid areas and sounds about right to tosss em out if you see anything different. (scent, color, etc)
