Stays wet... For a little while, at least

Wet Gel lubricant wasn't my favorite. It became sticky too quickly and I found it irritating. It may work better for someone else, but I know I won't be buying it again; I didn't finish the bottle I had.
I recommend spending a few extra dollars on something safer and more effective.

Use

Wet Gel lubricant is a water based lubricant designed for both intercourse and personal use. Being water based, it is safe with all sex toy materials and will not degrade condoms.
I personally have used it almost exclusively for anal use, with toys. It can also be used to augment natural vaginal lubrication, though it contains glycerin which may increase chances of a yeast infection. Oral use is possible, but the scent and flavour might deter someone from doing so. Furthermore, it can be used as a masturbation lube for males. Finally, because it is safe to use with all toys, if a toy has a hole for a suction cup or bullet vibe, you could use it to ease insertion of said attachment.

Out of all the above, I could only test it for anal/toy play and masturbation; of the two, I preferred it more for anal play, but that could be a bias on my part as I don't use lube for masturbation.
Because of its slightly thicker consistency, it is great for toy use as it will cling better to the toys surface.

As for product interactions... As I mentioned before, the glycerin may pose a risk for sensitive individuals when it comes to yeast infections or general irritation. There are also parabens which can be troublesome for sensitive individuals. In terms of my own use, I did feel some irritation and a slight burning at times... I attributed this to getting used to a new size of toy, but I have since developed suspicions that it was indeed the lube as I haven't felt the same sensation with Sliquid Organics.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

I have to say, despite its "Gel" label, it wasn't as thick as I had expected. While it is thicker than a standard water based lube, it still runs easily. This was a bit disappointing as the toys I used it on were also shiny smooth silicone... It beaded and ran and didn't stay put very well. I would have liked for it to be more viscous.

Applying it to my skin, it was slick at first but became tackier in a short amount of time. Reapplication was necessary, which kind of spoils the mood. I wouldn't expect it to last as long as a quality silicone lube, but I did have higher hopes. I found myself starting out with more lube than normally necessary, and it did alleviate the issue temporarily, but it wasn't a permanent solution. It does slick up a bit again if you apply water, but it's not a considerable improvement.

Once it dried out, there was a bit of a dry, sticky residue. This cleaned up fairly easily with water.

As I mentioned above, it does not stay in place on toys, and it slides easily under the influence of gravity. However, it does stay fairly well where you put it on your body, dripping a bit if you've applied a lot.

Taste / Aroma

Reluctantly, I tasted this lube. It wasn't a strong flavor to me, but it was a little bitter, almost like diluted dish soap in my mind.
There is definitely a smell. It's hard to describe; slightly sweet and maybe even a little chemical. I noticed it fairly easily and didn't really enjoy it. I think both the smell and the taste would discourage one from using this lube for oral sex of any kind.

Performance

Alas, this product could have lasted longer. Like I said above, it became tacky and dried a bit too quickly for my tastes. I did notice that it dried/absorbed more quickly with masturbation than with anal toy play. Of course, being a water based lube, it is not waterproof and therefore cannot be used in the bath or shower like silicone or oil based lubes.
Clean-up, fortunately, was easy. Water removes this lube easily, which is nice to remove the slight and lingering stickiness. I found that it did not stain cloth, at least for me to witness, which is another plus.
This particular lube was the first I ever tried with anal toys; it made insertion much easier than it would have been without lube, this much is true. While it did evoke a mild burning sensation (anally/rectally) at times, it is likely due to my own sensitivity to certain ingredients. In spite of the negative points I mentioned, it did what it was supposed to do, I'll give it that much. I wouldn't buy it again, but it might work better for some people.
In terms of use in (male) masturbation, I cannot be the most objective judge as I never use lube for that particular activity. I found that while it was nice and slick at first, it quickly became kind of sticky, effectively worsening things.

I would like to add that this lube would not be very good for oral, mostly due to the flavor and lack of lasting lubrication, nor would it be an effective massage "oil". That is my opinion, at least. Again, I warn those sensitive to parabens or glycerin to try another lube (like Sliquid).

Packaging

Wet Gel lubricant, except in the smallest sizes available here on EdenFantasys, comes in a cylindrical, shiny marine blue bottle with a rounded flip-top cap. The bottle has an indentation that is likely meant to improve grip (and does so moderately well). The cap may be difficult to flip off if your hands are already slippery, but it can be opened single-handedly. The spout is a small, elliptical raised one that pours with decent precision.
The bottle needs to be squeezed to dispense the product, which isn't my favourite mode of dispensing. While I would prefer a pump-top bottle, this isn't necessarily feasible with smaller bottles.
Overall, I found the packaging to do its job pretty well.

The packaging isn't discreet, being pretty blatant about its use. It is fairly small and easy enough to store in a bedside drawer, toy box, etc. I never had any problems with it popping open, but there may be a risk if it is being jostled about quite a bit; as a result, if traveling with this product, keep it in a zipper-lock baggie or a similar container to prevent leakage. It should be pretty travel-friendly, especially the smaller sizes. If your airport has gel and liquid restrictions, do keep those in mind.

One thing I do like is that when I received it, the only packaging was that of the bottle, rather than extra boxes, bags, plastic, etc.
    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Not discreet

Experience

Again, my experience with this lube wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. Because of the slight but definitely perceptible irritation I felt anally and the lube's tendency to quickly go tacky, I wouldn't buy it again. I found it was better with toys than with masturbation, due to the quick absorption.

How wonderful! This was one very nice review. I have used this brand before and liked the warming one, but hate the ingredients! I think I'll be passing on this one. Thanks for all the super useful info. Very good!

  • Anyone else?
    • I have been using ID pleasure for years. I tried WET and it seemed to be a bit more watered down to me. Not a bad thing just not my thing.
Anyonee lse have this going for you too?
    • I used to hate Wet products, they came off as cheap.
Until I tried their synergy line. I fell in love with both the original, and the tingle lubricant.

The Synergy is water and silicone mixed, which produces a gel. I hate water down lubricants.
As long as you don't use it with silicone toys, its fine.
    • I used to feel the same way about wet

  • Why not the same looking containers for this product?
    • Why is the 3.5, the 4.8, and the 10 oz bottles of this lubricant sold in cool looking bottles, while the 0.8 amount and the 1.5 sold in smaller, weirder shapes? Why not miniatures of the cooler versions? Why a toothpaste looking bottle and a hand sanitizer looking bottle? Comments? Agreements?

I'd assume that's just the bottles that the manufacturers felt were best for their item. Certain sizes will do better certain ways because of how they have to flex to squeeze the lube out.

Personally I don't care either way for stuff like this, none of the bottles are something I would want to display and the ease of use on all of them seems about the same, so it's not going to make a difference to me between the options.

At the size of the bottles for those smaller ones, the "neat" bottle wouldn't work. The little "handle hold" on the side of the bottle would actually be the entire length of the bottle. There just isn't enough product to warrant making the bigger bottle. However, if you contact Wet Lubricants, they always take suggestions well and could explain it further.
