Tastes Like Fresh Candy

I was hoping to find a natural lube that tasted like fruit nectar to help my oral practice sessions with my dildos. Unfortunately, Sliquid Swirl tastes predictably like candy that's been poorly modeled after the taste of fruit. Just another example of how hard it is to capture the delicious flavors of nature.

Use

Sliquid Swirl is an all-natural flavored lubricant. I have both Strawberry Pomegranate and Green Apple. Since it's flavored, the most obvious use for this lube would be as an oral sex aid, adding an extra layer to the fun. It can also be used vaginally, and I'd say that it's okay to pop a butt plug in with, but it doesn't feel thick enough to be comfortable for anal sex.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This lube is a bit on the thin side; it runs freely, but it doesn't necessarily drip all over everything, provided that a large amount doesn't start accumulating. It's not sticky feeling, and when it dries it doesn't feel weird or leave annoying residue. It basically just absorbs and evaporates. This is a good thing, but it also means that it's not as long-lasting when in use.

Taste / Aroma

Strawberry Pomegranate: This one tastes okay, but instead of tasting like the natural fruits, it tastes much more like candy that is supposed to taste like strawberries or pomegranates. This was basically what I was expecting, and this may be a pro for some people, but I wish it tasted a bit more like actual fruit.

Green Apple: Same thing here, doesn't taste like a fresh apple, but like apple candy. I like this one slightly over the Strawberry Pomegranate, but I think that's just a personal preference.

Both lubes smell like their respective flavors. The scent isn't too strong. The flavor is stronger, but it's not overpowering to the senses. It lasts a decent amount of time before the taste begins to fade. As the flavor starts to thin out, you're left with an aspartame aftertaste that you'll probably recognize from drinking diet soda.

Performance

This lube is just okay to me. I bought it mainly to use for practicing oral on my dildos. I have no partner, so I can't speak as to how well it would work using it on/with an actual person. And unfortunately, it kind of ends up failing at what I got it for; the candy flavors are somewhat distracting to me, but I think that's because I'm someone who doesn't like candy because of the artificial flavors.

And that brings me to another point: the packaging doesn't say whether or not the flavoring is artificial or not. Here are the ingredients as listed: Purified Water, Plant Cellulose (from Cotton), Cyamopsis (Guar Conditioners), [Here says the respective flavor the lube, Strawberry Pomegranate or Green Apple] Flavoring, Aspartame, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid. This is a vegan lube.

Besides the flavoring mystery, the next ingredient that's most likely to alarm people is aspartame. Since it's an artificial sweetener, I don't think it will have the negative effects on the vagina's environment like real sugar does. The jury is out on whether or not aspartame is bad for you, as many sources and research on the subject contradict other sources and studies, but it seems to be generally accepted that consuming small amounts of it isn't that detrimental. Of course, it's a personal choice.

Since I'm not as fond of using this to practice oral as I was hoping, I am using it up as a vaginal lube. And let me tell you, using a silicone dildo with this lube will make it smell like candy. Silicone tends to absorb the smells around it, and this lube's scents really seems to have permeated the few toys I use it with. Airing the toy out tends to make most of the smell dissipate though. I predict that when I finally do run out of these lubes, the smell will eventually fade from my toys with regular washings.

Overall, I'd recommend this lube if you are not adverse to artificial candy flavors and are looking for something to help enhance your oral experiences.

Packaging

Sliquid Swirl comes in a 4.2 ounce #1 plastic bottle with a push top. Since it's not sticky or stringy, I've found that it's not messy to dispense. The bottle designs are pretty inconspicuous; someone would have to actually pick up and read the bottle to figure out what it is.

Nice review!!! thanks for sharing it!!

For me... Aspartame is a no no. From my limited research into flavours and such, when something says, "flavouring" it usually means fake stuff over natural stuff.
