Terrible Taste Took Me Out of the Moment

This lubricant tastes terrible and I found it totally incompatible with oral sex. It is hypoallergenic, glycerin and paraben-free, which makes it a great option for those with allergies or those who are sensitive to those ingredients. It is a water-based lube and compatible with all materials and forms of play, but since it is glycerin-free it is not the slickest choice for anal sex.

I wanted something water-based and unflavored to use for oral/manual sex, so I went with ID Moments because I trusted the brand's quality.

This lube works great for solo penetrative use, which due a long-distance relationship is all I've been able to use it for. I just had one problem with this product, and unfortunately it was a big one for me: with this lube, "unflavored" doesn't actually mean no flavor. It has a bitter, chemical taste that stings my tongue slightly and really turned me off. This ruled out my ability to use it for what I bought it for, which was handjobs/blowjobs. Granted, the manufacturer does not advertise this lube as edible, but neither does the bottle caution against using it as such. In any case, I took the term "unflavored" to mean that it wouldn't have a flavor should someone choose to put their mouth on it--oops! Not so. Blegh, what a taste.

Luckily, it was not a waste of a purchase since I can use this solo with any of my toys. I would not want to use it with a partner at all because the awful taste completely rules out the possibility of oral sex afterwards. I honestly did not expect ID Moments to taste so bad, especially considering that my other unflavored ID Lube, the silicone Millenium, is completely flavorless.

But that's enough about my disappointment. Moving along to this product's other specs!

The consistency is gel-like. It is not as thick as other lubes, but neither is it thin. It is slippery and does not dry out quickly, but it leaves a slightly sticky residue behind until it dries completely. Adding water or saliva will reactivate its slickness. It smells faintly of green apples when first applied, as another review noted, but the scent does not linger.

This lube comes in a clear, cylindrical plastic bottle with a rounded cap and an indent in the side to aid in gripping it when your hands are slippery. The labels and cap are both hot pink. Overall, the appearance is discreet. It says "hypoallergenic lubricant" on the front, which is the only visible suggestion of its use. Fine print on the back states that it is "for your most intimate and sensual moments" and "latex compatible". It goes on to warn that it is not a contraceptive.

As mentioned above, ID Moments is a hypoallergenic lubricant and is free of parabens and glycerin, making it a body-safe choice for people sensitive to those ingredients. I would recommend this lube to anyone who does not expect to use it in conjunction with oral sex, as the bad taste really put a damper on it for me.

This is a water-based lube, and as such, it is compatible will all toys and forms of sexual fun. Silicone lubricants are slicker and better for anal sex; EdenFantasys has a fantastic selection available. You can learn more about lube types and compatibility here.

Great review, I'm sorry to hear it tasted gross... I prefer flavoured edible products rather than unflavoured.. At least like you said, you can still use it just not inyour mouth lol

I have found that unless it is a flavored lube, you do not want to put it in your mouth. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the great review! I think that I'm gonna need to invest in a flavored lube sometime soon because I hate the taste of the two I have!
