This classic water based lube can be used for pretty much whatever you want. I typically use it for strap on sex, but it could also be used for solo toys, manual masturbation, anal sex, fisting, or really anything you can think of. I can't really imagine anyone having partnered sex who couldn't find a use for this at some point. Sometimes even straight couples need a little lube for vaginal sex if its a 'dry' day. Since the lube is water based, it won't hurt any silicone toys and also shouldn't cause any allergic reactions. It also washes off easily.

The original Astroglide is unflavored and unscented, so it probably won't add anything to oral sex, but it is also largely tasteless, so it shouldn't really detract from it either.

Here is the ingredient list for Astroglide: Purified Water, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Polyquaternium 15, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

Anyone who is especially prone to yeast infections or is otherwise chemically sensitive may want to reconsider this particular type of Astroglide, as glycerin and parabens have been known to cause problems with such people. However, Astroglide does make both a "natural" lube and one that is specifically glycerin and paraben free, so those are great options if the original formula causes you problems.

Water based lubes, while lacking the greasiness of silicone based lubes, also don't have the same thickness or longevity. Astroglide has always been thick enough to suit my purposes (strap on sex) and has very rarely needed reapplication. It tends to do a pretty good job of keeping things moving. A true marathon session will probably need reapplication, but the average session should be fine with just the initial coating. It's not particularly greasy or sticky, and it is very easy to wash off. For this reason it won't work well in the shower or any other wet places.

Astroglide is unscented and unflavored. I don't use it for oral (or any lube for that matter) but the taste (while tasting like you would imagine a lubricant would taste) is very mild and not particularly noticeable if you aren't looking for it. I wouldn't recommend it over a nice flavored lube for oral sex, but if that's all you had, I doubt it would ruin the fun.

The product, at least for my partner and I, will usually last for about a half hour of steady thrusting with a strap on. It usually needs to be reapplied for subsequent rounds, but this has never dampened the mood for my partner and I. The lube washes off easily in the sink, or you can just use a rag to get the majority of it, and the rest will simply absorb into your skin.

I really like using Astroglide and really have no concerns. It might be nice to have a slightly longer lasting lube, but the trade off with that is a lube that is much harder to wash off than Astroglide. For my partner and I, it lasts as long as it needs to, although true marathoners may want a longer lasting lube.

The lube comes in a pretty standard paperstock box with an open front panel to showcase the product. It is a 2.5 oz, which always seems to last an incredibly long time. I feel as though the average couple will use the same bottle for at least 4-6 months, if not longer.

The bottle seals tightly and I have not had any problems with leaking. I would still put it into a ziplock bag before traveling, just to be safe, but in general its pretty well contained.
