Lubricant discontinued
by Oceanus Naturals

The key to a well oiled machine… is good lube!

A silicone based lubricant formulated without harsh ingredients like glycols and parabens. Finally, a personal lubricant with safe ingredients that feels great to use, doesn’t dry out, and is compatible with many toys! Condom compatible, not for use with silicone toys.
Published:
Pros
Safer formulation, condom compatible, non-sticky!
Cons
Not to be used with silicone toys, bad dispenser design.

I must begin by saying that I have never been a huge fan of commercial lubricants. There always seems to be some compatibility issue with the lube and my toys or condoms, the lube usually dries in an unpleasant way, and they are nothing if not chock full of suspicious chemicals.

For once though, I might say I’ve found a personal lubricant made with ingredients that aren’t entirely objectionable. The three main ingredients (Dimethiconol, Cyclopentasiloxane, and Dimethicone) are medical grade silicones which present relatively low health risks when used in the small amounts necessary for sex play. This product contains no parabens or glycols: chemicals commonly used in personal care products which have demonstrated health risks. I would love to see all personal lubricants held to these standards!

The bottle has a pump top which dispenses the lube in single portions. The dispensing mechanism isn’t the best, and the pump becomes messy and slick after only one pump. A very small amount is dispensed as well, although one pump was enough to suffice in my play with the Pyrexions Clear Pawn.

Unlike most lubes I’ve used in the past, Oceanus Sensuals Ultra Pure did not dry out (or even start to) when exposed to air. I found it perfectly viscous and slick, even when used in the water. With some soap and a little scrubbing it came right off, but was great for play in the shower.

The one major complaint I have can’t really be helped, but I’ll bring it up anyway: you cannot use silicone lubes with silicone toys. Nearly all of my favorite toys are silicone, so I find this to be a major downside to this product. It is however, condom safe, and I would certainly recommend it for that use.

I’ve got very sensitive skin and have experienced burning and irritation from personal lubricants before, even those “sensitive formulations”. I had no such problems with this lube, it did exactly what it should have with no glitches or hang-ups (except that messy bottle). I’m not a convert to commercial lubes by any means, but I’d happily recommend this to those who do use and enjoy it.

Did this product have any smell or taste to it? Does it stain? Have you tried other silicone lubes, and if so, how does this one compare? How much lube does the bottle dispense in one pump, and do you find that this delivered amount is too much, too little, or perfect? Thank you for the review.

No smell or taste to report at all!
On the stain front I have to admit that I'm not all together sure, although the evidence looks good as I haven't seen any since I've used it.
The last silicone lube I used was Wet Platinum which I hated, gave me a rash, and my my labia and my partner's balls burn. I had no such issues with this lube, it was a major difference.
Personally, I felt that the pump dispensed a little less than adequate amount of lube per pump, although as I said above (and have experienced subsequently since) just one pump was enough for what I needed.
All in all, I'd say this is a lube which is worth a try.

This looks interesting. I had the same issues with Wet Platinum so if I am ever in the market for another silicone based lube, I'll keep this in mind.

Finally a lube that does not burn you. I read one of your other reviews where you and your hubby had to wash off a lube almost as soon as it touched you. Too bad it's not good with toys... See ya

The thing about the toy compatibility really is a downside. It means for example that if we start out with a glass toy and this lube, we're committed and can't change to a silicone toy after this lube is on our bodies. It's true that this is a downside of ALL silicone lubes and not just this one, but it stinks anyway!
