Anal lube - lubricant by Cal Exotics - review by NuMe

We have tried several anal lubes with little to no success. But I think we finally found what we were looking for with the Anal Lube by California Exotics. There are many features that make this our favorite anal luber over all the others.


First of all and probably most important is that it's by far the thickest lubricant we have ever used. The consistency is a like gel. It will actually stand up on your hand once you finally get some out of the bottle. As a matter of fact the only drawback that we've found so far is that it's hard to get out of the bottle. Heinz Ketchup is easier to pour than this stuff is. But in order for it to be a great thick lube, I guess it's a drawback that we'll have to live with.


But this thick gel is wonderful! It lasts forever. Ok, that's probably a slight exaggeration. But it does last a very long time. It keeps its consistency and doesn't dry out or get tacky for as long as you need. Also, due to its wonderful properties, very little of this is needed to do the job.


It is made of Deionized water, Vegetable Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Polysorbate-20, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Flavor, DMDM Hydantoin, Mathyparaben. I'm not exactly sure what all these ingredients are but I do know that it contains glycerin, which can cause yeast infection issues for some women. The glycerin also cause it to have a slight taste and smell. But it is a pleasant taste and smell, so no worries there. Speaking of taste, this comes in either non-flavored (which is what we have) or a cherry flavored version.


The price on this can't be beat! You get 6 ounces for only $9.99. That really is a bargain. Especially considering, as I said before, that you need to use very little of this. It comes in a clear plastic bottle with a blue lid that has a small pop top section for dispensing the lube. This is not a discreet bottle by any means. There is a label with the words "Anal Lube" in very large bold print right across the front. I suppose if that bothers you, that you remove the label. For us I just keep it tucked away in a drawer with our toys.


This is a water based lube and as such, is safe with any toy or condom, washes off easily, and does not stain clothing or bedding. Since it is water based, it might not work well in the shower or tub, though considering the consistency it might hold up nicely. But I haven't tried it there yet, so I can't say for sure.


We have tried this a few times with anal toys and during anal sex and it works extremely well. The consistency and slipperiness helps make anything you want to insert in your rear much easier to handle. We also have Maximus lube which is nice for anal sex, but this definitely works better. I suppose you could use this vaginally, but I don't care to use something this thick for vaginal sex. In my opinion, what makes it an excellent anal lube is exactly what makes it a poor vaginal one, the thickness.
