This is THE BEST lubricant around.
I can easily say after trying various brands of lubricant, ranging from KY to Astroglide, that this is the best you can get. Thick enough for versatility and comes off very easy and clean. Good for vaginal sex, anal sex and playing with some toys. Great with a fleshlight. There is no smell to be weary of. Pump is a great addition, no more mess when reapplying. After trying various lubricants, from brands like KY and Astroglide, I was getting very annoying from the quality of the lubes I was buying. I came upon this lubricant and decided to try it out. I was amazed by the quality of this lube: it's thick yet not uncomfortably thick, it's just the PERFECT consistency for versatility. By this I mean it's perfect for vaginal sex, anal sex and solo play with toys. It's water based so your toys will not be damage by it and nor will your body and sheets suffer the consequences of using a silicon or oil(worst kind) based lubricant. It comes off very easily.
I use it for my fleshlight, my girlfriend uses it for her toys and we both use it together when having sex. It lasts very long and we rarely have to reapply, but if we do we have no fear of running out of it, cause of the 8.5 oz size of the bottle. I personally love volume of the bottle since I don't really like to have to buy lubricant every 2 weeks. This lasted us 4 1/2 months when we first bought it, and we didn't even try to conserve it, we used it as we pleased. If you are thinking about using it for toys, this is the best one you can get: water based, lasts long, comes off easily and you have plenty to spare with a 8.5 oz bottle.
An additional feature that I really enjoy about this product is the pump. I didn't even think about it when I bought it, I didn't see it as that much as a convenience; I was blind. The pump is one of the best features of the bottle: no more grabbing the bottle mid-play with your hands all lubed up, smearing the bottle with lube too, making it all slipery and messy. NO MORE MESS! 1 pump does it all. Anytime you want lube, just 1 pump will suffice, two if you really want it.
Overall a great buy, 15 bucks every 4 months (even more if you don't use that much) for lubricant isn't much at all, compared to what you would spend buying another lube for 6 bucks every 2 weeks. Try it out you won't be disappointed.

I know most people absolutely love this lube, but when I try to use it, it feels like my genitals are on fire! Could it be due to the parabens? Any thoughts, or any recommendations for another thicker water-based lubricant?

I'm not sure if it's kosher to mention a competitor's product here, but BabeLube is a wonderful water-based lube that's comparable in thickness to Maximus.

Maximus is my go-to lube. I have very sensitive skin and have never had a problem with it.

Is Maximus as Great as The Reviews Say?

Two negative things I've seen written are that it has a bitter aftertaste and it does peel off, dry, and need to be washed off.
Positives and opposites I've heard are that it has a natural tasteless feel similar to saliva, and it is a thicker lubricant. Also the pump looks like a great feature that makes this product less messy.
I would like to try it for myself, and wonder if it is really the go-to lube for me, and for others like me. -
This is my favorite water-based lube, hands down and without a doubt. It's pretty thick (ideal for backdoor fun). I've fallen asleep with it on my hands and don't wake up with fuzzy or sticky palms (until they get wet, then it reactivates).

Does Maximus come in any other size bottles? I feel like 8 oz. would be a lot for me to use before it goes bad. Also, it seems like a big bottle to store somewhere discrete.

It really isn't very big - I have mine it a bedside drawer. Maximus is so thick that you don't have to worry about it leaking unless you really press on the bottle. If my mind isn't playing tricks on me, the bottle is about 2-3/4" in diameter and 4-1/2 to 5 inches tall (including pump), and I think it's closer to 4.5
I think mine's good to 2013 or something (I'm not at home now, but I can check later), so I wouldn't worry about it going bad -
