This one's for the boys.

him Lubricating Cream is a creamy, rich, oil-based lubricating cream. It would be a great fit for the men out there who enjoy a lotion-like feel during masturbation or hand jobs. It is also useful as a massage lotion. As with all oil-based lubes, this one is not latex-compatible, should not be used vaginally, or with toys, and does not provide the amount of glide that most people need for anal penetration.

Use

ID Him Lubricating Cream is a white, creamy, oil-based lube designed for men. It meant to be used for manual masturbation or hand jobs. It provides a great amount of glide without being too slippery. This product would be great for those who prefer a lotion-y feel to their lubricants, as it has a thicker, creamier texture than other lubricants. It provides a small amount of friction to stimulation, which can heighten sensation.

This lube is not latex-compatible, because oil-based products can erode latex. It is also not recommended for use with toys with materials other than silicone. Because the body does not shed this type of lubricant as it does others, it is also not recommended for internal use.

As for anal, which this product claims to be good for, it doesn't seem to be an ideal choice. Oil based lubes aren't shed by the body as well as water and silicone based products are. This product doesn't provide the amount of glide that some may need for anal penetration.

This lube can also be used for massage. The ingredients are very similar to those in lotions, and it is unscented.

Him Lubricating Cream does not contain gylercine or L-Arginine. However, it does include parabens, alcohol, mineral oil, and lanolin oil. Avoid this product if you have any sensitivities to other oil-based lubes, or have sensitive skin.

The listed ingredients are: Water, Mineral Oil, Petrolatum, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Beeswax, Sorbitan Stearate, Stearic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth 20, Cetearyl Alcohol, Lanolin Oil, Polysorbate 60, Sodium Tetraborate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Diazolidinyl Urea.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This lube has the consistency and texture of a thicker lotion. It is a bit more slippery than regular lotion, which makes it more suitable for masturbation. The texture can be described as creamy, velvety, and smooth. It is not sticky, and not too greasy, considering it is an oil-based lube. It does not run or drip like thinner lubes and is less messy.

Taste / Aroma

This product is considered to be "unscented", which is a great alternative to the leather scented version. However, I noticed it did have a bit of a lotion-like smell. It reminded me a lot of the unscented Nivea lotion I have. (I noticed that they did have very similar ingredients).

The scent is not too noticeable, unless you actually hold the container up to your nose. The trace of scent it has in the jar, and when first applied, disappears with use.
    • No smell

Performance

This lube does dry up, or absorb into skin, a little faster than water and silicone based types. Again, it is very similar to thicker lotion. When applying about a quarter-sized amount, the lube lasted about 10-15 minutes on average for masturbation and hand-jobs. When reapplying, a smaller amount is needed.

It does not leave behind much of a residue, even though it is oil-based. After contact has ended, you may not be able to tell it was used at all. It is a bit of a downside because it does not last very long. The plus side is that it requires little-to no clean up. If you're looking for something oil-based that you don't have to wash off, this may be for you. Be careful getting this on your sheets, as it may stain. If this happens, it should come off pretty well in the wash. I'd avoid using it around any delicate fabrics, however.
    • Allergy concerns
    • Not compatible with all materials
    • Dries up too fast

Packaging

The 1 oz. size comes in a flip-top jar. The product does not spill out of it. It is a great size for travel. It is slightly discreet, as it resembles an aftershave balm or shaving cream. It does say 'lubricating cream' on the package, but it still can be played off. The flip-top jar lid can be a little tricky to close as air gets trapped into it, so you have to press it tightly to make sure it is securely closed.

The 5.5 oz. jar is larger, but comes with a screw-on lid. It is still discreet in the same manner of the 1 oz. jar.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Travel friendly

Special Features

Because the formula is similar to some types of lotion, this cream does have some great moisturizing properties.

Experience

Personally, I really don't think this lube is anything superb. It is very similar to some types of lotion. It can't be used with latex, which makes it unsuitable for using during protected sex. It isn't slippery enough for most people's liking when used for anal. It isn't good for internal use, so any sex at all is out of the question. It isn't compatible with most toy materials, either. The only thing it seems to be useful for are handjobs and masturbation.

When I asked my boyfriend for his thoughts on it, he said it wasn't anything special, and that he prefers other types of lube, because he enjoys being able to use toys along with it, and that it isn't something he would find himself using very often.

I think I'll stick to water-based products, because they can be used for a much wider variety of things.
Follow-up commentary
This stuff was tossed into the toy box and hasn't come out since. We don't ever use it. The boyfriend still prefers water-based products because this one dries up too fast. I'm trying to find something else to use this for so it doesn't end up being a waste of space.
