Wet gel lubricant by Wet Lubricants - review by Chirple

Wet Original Gel Lubricant: for anything you want to to slip and glide. This is a basic hypoallergenic water-based lubricant that can be used vaginally or anally and for solo or partner play, although you could probably find a better-tasting lubricant for oral sex.

As a water-based lubricant, this can be used with any toy material including expensive luxury silicone toys that you don't want to risk coming to harm.

This product contains glycerin and methylparaben and should be avoided by those with sensitivities to them.

This product is definitely not a gel, or at least not what I would qualify as such. It's very watery and if you apply it to an upright toy, gravity will pull it down in drops almost immediately. It's much thinner than bath gel, and likely thinner than conditioner - just as points of reference. I had been expecting something thicker, and the thin consistency makes it a bit fiddly to apply to toys at times without it running all over.

The lubricant feels very clean and fresh on the finger and in use and is plenty slick and slippery.

The up side is that the Wet lubricant doesn't leave behind that nasty sticky feeling when used. The only other lubricant I've used always got very gross and sticky when it dried and I'm very glad this one does not, it makes me less apprehensive about using it.

To apply it, I will either let a bit drip from the bottle onto the toy and then spread it around with my finger. I need some "help" to be able to use penetrative toys comfortably but not a lot, and this product might not be the best choice for someone who feels more comfortable with a thicker truly gel-like layer of product on their toy or partner. Likewise, this might not be an ideal lubricant for anal use.

The Wet Original has a very faint scent, I have to hold a dollop right under my nose to detect anything or inhale deeply into the bottle. The smell is not off-putting, but not particularly sensual or arousing. It's hard to place the scent, it's so very faint and clean I can't get enough of a whiff to try to compare it to something. It's very benign.

The taste is pretty strong and sweet. I'm not a fan of the taste and wouldn't use this during oral sex. It's kind of a sickly candy taste, but without the flavor and I don't find it appealing. The taste stays in the mouth for a bit, too.

I found the lubricant to be quite long-lasting and was very pleased! I have only used this with my toys, but even during the longest session, I only had to re-apply once. Most of the time I don't feel the need to re-apply at all.

When all is said and done it leaves me feeling, well, wet. It's not gross or sticky, but I do feel it necessary to wipe up with a designated towel or toilet paper. However, it's nothing involved and I don't feel like a shower is necessary. Wet, but not dirty.

On the bottle, it advertises being clean and non-staining, and this has held up. I've gotten it on my sheets and it didn't leave a mark. I wouldn't want to risk it with more expensive or non-cotton sheets, though.

The bottle for the Wet Original 10.1 oz is a simple tube with a wave indent to facilitate grip. It's not discreet in that it announces it's a lubricant, but it's not explicitly sexual, just a splash of water for the most part. The writing on the back of the bottle does mention use with condoms and "www.StaysWetLonger.com", so I don't think you're going to convince anyone this is completely innocent unless you have a very good cover story.



It's fairly large, and I wouldn't want to carry it around in a purse, I'd go for a smaller size for that purpose. Certainly too large for airline travel, they'll make you toss it!

The top is one of those "pop-up" tops, where you press down on one side and the other side pops up to reveal a little opening. I found the angle a little awkward to use to apply to toys, but serviceable. It's certainly better than nothing.



The top itself is very secure, and although it warns "bottle may leak if not stored upright", I haven't been too careful about that and haven't had any leaks.

The bottle is PVC and can be recycled as long as you can find a place to accept it.

Wet Original is a basic lubricant, it keeps things wet but doesn't offer any arousing, warming, cooling or tingling features.

As a basic water-based lubricant, I'm very satisfied with this product and will continue to use it.

I have to knock off a star simply because this is a not a gel in any way. If not advertised as such, I wouldn't have an issue with it.
