Anal lube - lubricant by Cal Exotics - review by Porfiriato

When I was first starting my anal adventures, this was the only anal lube my old sex toy shop carried that did not have some sort of desensitizing agent. Luckily, it ended up being a great beginner lube. And while I continue to try and enjoy other types of lubes, I always have a bottle of this on hand for those occasions when I want a thicker lube. I usually reach for this bottle when I am using toys of a larger diameter, stretching my ass to its limits.

Since it is water-based, you will never have to worry about compatibility issues as it will work with every toy you own, and is safe for use with condoms.

Ingredients: Deionized water, Vegetable Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Polysorbate-20, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Flavor, DMDM Hydantoin, Mathyparaben.

Noticeably absent from this list is L-Arginine, which users should definitely avoid. Since it does contain Glycerin, I would not recommend using this lube for vaginal penetration. Parabens can also cause reactions in some users. I have never had an issue with this lube, however.

This lube has never felt sticky, greasy or tacky. While it is water based, it more closely resembles a gel than any other water-based option I have used, and is by far the thickest. Although it is a thick lube, it is easy to pour (even more so if you store it upside down) especially with its shampoo bottle type cap. The cap is great. I've never had it spill on me, which is partially a function of the thickness of the lube.

The thick lube really grabs onto a textured toy, and definitely stays put regardless of the toy's texture. This lube is certainly anything but runny.

This lube comes in a cherry-scented variety as well as an unscented option. The lube smells just like a cherry pop-tart. While you can certainly smell the cherry when first applying the lube, the smell is easy to forget about during play, and is never overpowering. The cherry taste actually isn't as bad as other reviews have made it out to be, and has never bothered me when I've come into contact with it. It does not really add anything to the experience, however.

This thick lube is built to last, and will stay in place, and remain nice and slippery throughout your play session. I've used it 30 minutes to an hour without having to reapply.

Since silicone toys necessitate using a water-based lube, I have chosen this lube when I want to use a toy in the shower, since this thick lube does not wash off as easily as thinner water-based lubes like System Jo.

However, since it is so thick, it does take a bit more effort to wash off, although soap and water will do the trick.

This lube is certainly NOT discreet. It screams Anal Lube in big bright red block letters right across the front label. If you do not want someone accidentally running across your anal lube, I'd either look at other options or rip the label off. When I have been in situations where discretion is a must, I have removed the label. With the label removed, it looks more like a bottle of aloe vera than lube.
