You could be my flamingo, 'Cos Pink is the new kind of lingo

I love Pink Water, Pink is my new obsession. Pink water won me over by being subtle, it doesn't tingle, it doesn't warm. What it does do is feel damn good. It makes me feel more aroused and sensitive and adds just enough lubrication without being goopy or greasy and it's never sticky. It just rocks my world!

Use

Pink Water is a water-based lubricant formulated especially for women. It works nicely for vaginal penetration with either toys or a partner. It's pretty light so I don't know if I'd really choose Pink Water for anal use. Maybe with a small probe or something, but probably not for anything larger or for anal sex.

It doesn't really have a taste to it, so I think it'd work out fine if you were giving oral after this was applied. It's not flavored or anything, so it's not going to spice up your oral sex or anything, but it shouldn't really hinder it.

While this lube is glycerin free it does contain parabens and aspartame, so those with sensitivities to those should use caution.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Pink Water is a very light lubricant. It's silky and thin, it does not get stringy and it feels pretty natural when it's applied. I don't find it to dry sticky, which is awesome. The residue left on my hand dries easily and it's as if it was never there. When it comes out of the pump it has about the consistency of hand sanitizer.

Taste / Aroma

I don't notice any smell from this lubricant and no taste. It's basically as if nothing is there, which is great. It just takes a back seat and allows you to enjoy yourself and the silky slickness without noticing it's even there.

Performance

When using Pink Water I've only needed to apply it once. It gets me going until my own lubrication kicks in. If you're playing for extended amounts of time you might find that you need more if you are normally a drier person. For me though, that's not really an issue so I can't say how long it'd last if I was. It's water based though, so it won't last as long as say a silicone based lube would. It's also not the best for hand jobs on a man as you'd have to use quite a lot to get it to last a while. It does tend to absorb in rather quickly on its own. For my uses though, toys and vaginal sex, I found it to work just fine and I never had to apply it more than once and I never found that I started to feel dry or less lubrication.

What I love best about it is that it feels soothing and moisturizing and seems to heighten the experience and make me feel a bit more sensitive to the texture and the motions that I'm working with. After use I don't find that I need to wash it off, and I'm left feeling moisturized and refreshed.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural

Packaging

I love the bottle, it's really cute and it has a pump for ease of application. You could easily apply this just with one hand. There's a little blue cap over the pump nozzle which I like too, it prevents accidental pumps and it keeps the nozzle clean. The bottle does say that it's lubricant, so it's not 100% discreet, but the bottle itself looks just like a facial moisturizer or cleanser bottle, so unless someone reads the find print on the bottle they wouldn't be drawn to it.
    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Easy to use / dispense

Special Features

Pink Water is designed for women to enhance their sexual experience. There are moisturizing ingredients that also have a slight aphrodisiac affect.

First we have Aloe Vera Extract, which soothes and moisturizes. It also has a slight cooling affect and it's been known as an anti-fungal and anti-bacterial ingredient.

Next is Ginseng Extract, which has numerous health benefits. I researched to see what the benefit in this application would be, and I came up kind of blank. I am thinking it might have something to do with circulation, though I can't be sure.

Guarana, another ingredient, is an energizing herb. It has more caffeine than coffee, and has also been shown to improve mood.

Finally we have Avena Sativa, this herb has been shown to increase libido in both men and women and has other numerous sexual benefits.

Now in reality I don't know how well these herbal ingredients work in the amount included in this lubricant. I can say though that using this lube does arouse me a bit more than some other lubricants. It's nothing extreme, but I can subtly feel a difference. It's not even a tingle or a warming sensation, it's just a basic heightened sensitivity I guess.

Personal comments

Above I listed the herbal ingredients but here is a full list:

Water, HEC, PEG 45, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Polyquaterium 5 Tetrasodium EDT, Germall II Sodium Benzoate, Aspartame, Polysorbate 20, Aloe Vera Extract, Ginseng
Extract, Guarana Extract, Avena Sativa Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Citric Acid
Follow-up commentary
Pink water is still one of my favorite water based lubes. I find that it doesn't get used much for sex because I prefer flavored lubes since we switch back and forth between oral and other things, but it's probably my most often used lubricant with toys, especially my toys that have to have a water based lubricant. It glides easily, doesn't leave me feeling sticky and there's just something about it that makes it feel absolutely awesome when I'm using it. I also find that I don't have to use much at a time so I have a LOT left still!

    • I love the Pink silicone, so I'm surprised to hear the water-based is no good.

I know my standards were so high for the water based and it just didn't live up to expectations

  • Length?
    • Which lube do you find lasts the longest without getting gross?
    • System JO seems to work pretty good for water based lubes, Better Sex essentials is the best I have tried when it comes to Silicone based.
    • I love pink silicone. The stuff lasts forever, but if we're talking water-based, so far I've been liking Blossom Organics (which I think is only sold on their website), but I don't have tons of experience with the water-based stuff.

  • packaging
    • how much does packaging influence your purchase? for me, the gawdy and tacky packaging is a total turn off- even if it has high ratings! should you really judge a lube by its cover?
    • I agree, I tend to be turned off by ridiculous packaging. I like things to be nicely designed and I am definitely more inclined to purchase those sorts of things.

I actually like pink water's packaging...

In general no I wouldn't be turned off a highly rated lube if I didn't like its packaging. I'm not buying it for what it looks like, I'm buying it for how it works.
