Maximus by Bodywise Limited

Well, the word Maximus translates from Latin as “greatest” or “largest” and I personally feel that this lubricant definitely lives up to the ideal of “greatest”. I am sure I am not alone in my long trek through the valley of personal lubricants. I mean I started with KY Jelly and remember thinking, this stuff isn’t too bad. At least it makes things simpler. Later on, I got some Astroglide and tried it out. I remember my thoughts then were along the lines of, this is so much better than KY that I should have tried this a long time ago. I would venture to different products all sold at the local drug store and some of them were okay, but in general Astroglide was probably the best of the bunch. Then, I learned about silicone lubricants and how good they are in wet environments. I will say that Silicone based lubes are great in the shower, but they tend to stain fabrics, so they aren’t as friendly in the bedroom. They can harm silicone toys as well, so it isn’t necessarily ideal for that use either. The best thing about my discovery of silicone lubes is that it really opened up my world because I couldn’t get silicone lube at my local drug store. I had to go to a sex shop or order them online. During this process, I discovered that there is a whole world of water based lubricants out there and many of them leave Astroglide in the dust. Maximus is one of these lubricants.

The ingredient list for Maximus is: highly purified water, propylene glycol, cellulose polymer, di-sodium EDTA, phenoxyethanol, methyl paraben, butyl paraben, ethyl paraben, and propyl paraben. Notice the lack of glycerin. This is good for those prone to yeast infections. Also, note the use of parabens which can be a source of irritation for those with paraben allergies. There are a couple of alcohols in there and I presume that the cellulose polymer is a thickener. Really not a bad ingredient list for a water based lube. It doesn’t contain aloe vera or vitamin E like some lubes do, but those are really just there for their skin moisturizing properties not their lubricating properties.

So, I have used Maximus lube with toys, as well as vaginal and anal sex. I have been extremely pleased with its performance in all of these applications. Like any water based lube it isn’t great in the shower. It doesn’t taste great, so maybe look elsewhere for a nice oral lubricant as well. Other than that, it is thicker and lasts longer than almost every other water based lube I have tried. Before I forget, don’t get the smallest bottle that you can find because I don’t think you get the terrific pump top unless you go with the 250 ml bottle. Also, once you try it you’ll want to use it all the time, trust me.

Well, my partner indulges me on special occasions by opening her ass for a little loving.
