A Set You Won't Forget

I couldn't be much more satisfied with this elegant ensemble. I firmly believe that for the price you couldn't find better. This set includes a total of 4 pieces, which makes this a complete outfit. No worries about paying extra for accessories! You've got it all in one buy.

I have always been fascinated by corsets, and have been dying to buy one for myself for ages. I have been putting it off for so long simply because most quality corsets are just too darn expensive on a college student budget! I was just hoping that I had found an exception with the Lacquer print corset set.

Honestly, at $35 I couldn't expect too much, and I just didn't want to get my hopes up. It seemed too good to be true; especially considering this is not only a seemingly nice corset, but it also comes as a set with accessories as well! I decided to take my chances and ordered it anyway.

The set arrived promptly and I was anxious to try it on. The cheap plastic wrapping made me gulp, but once everything was splayed out on the bed I was feeling a little more confident that this set was a good choice.

The satin fabric on the corset and thong was the first thing that caught my eyes. The smooth, lightly floral printed satin is definitely sexy in its own right. The embroidery at the top of the corset was just as stunning. Since the pictures were limited I wasn't sure what to expect of the necklace other than the fact that it consisted of 6 strands. I found that the beads were actually quite similar to pink pearls, which I felt was very tasteful. The stockings were nice but aren't much more than your usual white sheer thigh highs.

The corset did in fact appear to be well made, and the boning appears to be quite strong, though I am still unsure as to what it is made from. I would guess a hard plastic? The garters, which can detach from the corset, really make this piece. I was pleased with the quality.

I chose the medium/large size as I am typically a medium, size 7, or 34B and felt that it should be a close fit. I usually do not bother checking the size chart. Yeah, I know, not so smart, right? But in my defense, I usually don't have a problem with fitting when it comes to lingerie. That, or I've just been getting lucky because in this case, it probably would have been a smart way to spend a few extra seconds. My point is, check the size chart!

The panties couldn't have been a more perfect fit. They did not dig in at all, which was my biggest concern. The corset, however, was slightly too big. It had to be tied extra tight, which caused a bit of overlapping and crinkling when laced-up. Still, I was happy with the way it looked on me and I was still able to get the cinching effect that corsets provide. I was initially a little skeptical of the hook and eye closures in the front, since they aren't necessarily the most flattering. But I concluded that they are actually a really big help when you don't have an extra pair of hands to lace you up. You can lace-up first and then slip it on. It makes things much easier.

I hadn't expected the stockings to fit perfectly. I just haven't been able to find a pair yet that doesn't cut off circulation at the thighs. These were no exception, but I wasn't surprised. This being a size medium/large, I just don’t see how they would fit anyone correctly. Stockings or not, this outfit was still hot!

I haven't felt it necessary to wash this yet but, since this is satin, I would suggest washing it in lukewarm water; either by hand, or perhaps a delicate cycle in the washer. Never wash satin in hot water as it cannot stand up to high temperatures, and should be aired dry.

To wrap up my description, I can't help but to stress how well worth it this set is. The mannequin is just not going to do this outfit justice (they usually never do). It is by no means a top of the line corset, no, but it is very well made and is not going to fall apart after only a few uses. The fact that the corset was not a perfect fit was of my own fault, so I firmly belief this set is worthy of 4 stars. The loss of one star being because the stockings did not fit, and because I would have liked this set even more if it came in a different color (perhaps red or black).
Experience
I have been tempted to wear the corset in public (without the garters of course), which is an indication that this piece is truly versatile as lingerie or as an everyday outfit. The panties I HAVE actually worn outside the bedroom! They fit so perfect, and are made well enough to hold up to everyday wear. The necklace is equally as tempting. I am sure I will find some excuse to wear these out.
