Naughty by nature garter slip - chemise discontinued by DreamGirl - review by SMichelle

Like many of you, I was excited when I saw this piece added. Unfortunately for me, that excitement was replaced with a feeling of regret when the piece arrived. There are just some design flaws that make this piece an absolute bust for me.


Basics:
The Naughty by Nature garter slip is made by Dreamgirl. In my own opinion, it's more of a chemise than a slip, as I tend to think of slips as things that are intended to be worn underneath dresses -- but that's a bit irrelevant.

It's only available in black, but it is offered in a wide variety of sizes, from small to 3X/4X. It comes with a plastic hanger, and a fishnet thong.

Material & Care:
Both pieces of this set are made out of 92% Polyester and 8% Spandex -- exclusive of the decoration.

The "slip" is basically made out of two different styles of material. There's the solid black material, which makes up basically everything but the sides of the piece. Then, there's the fishnet material, which is what the sides of the slip are made out of.

The solid black material has a shine to it, similar to wetlook items. The material seems to almost shimmer in the right light. And... in the right light, in can look really nice. That being said, in the wrong light, this material really accented every figure flaw that I have -- such is life. Anyway, the black material is quite stretchy. It also feels smooth and cool to the touch on the outside, whereas the interior portion feels just a bit softer. The fabric does feel comfortable against my skin.

The fishnet material is your standard fishnet. It consists of small diamonds, and it is very stretchy. Like the solid material, the fishnet is also very comfortable against my skin.

According to the tag, the slip and the thong should both be dry cleaned. Personally, I don't really see the need for dry cleaning this particular item. Instead, I would suggest hand washing it in cold water, and then allowing it to hang dry.

Sizing:
This piece is available in the following sizes: S, M, L, XL, 1X/2X, and 3X/4X. I purchased the large, so my review will discuss those specific measurements.

Cups: C-D
Bust: 36-38"
Waist: 28-32"
Hips: 38-40"

I typically wear a 34d bra (in some cases, 34dd, depending on the brand), and I have a 32" waist. My hips measure 40". The fit of this slip is okay. It could quite easily fit someone that's a few inches bigger than me in just about all of the measurements, due to how stretchy the fabric is. That being said, my 34d girls don't really receive a hint of support from this piece, so if you are bustier and require support... don't expect to find it here.

Design:


The design of this piece had definite potential, but I find myself feeling incredibly let down by it. Before I get into telling you what I really don't like about the slip, let me tell you a few things that I do *kind of* like.

1. I like that this piece features adjustable shoulder straps.

I like that it has removable, adjustable garter straps. The garter clasps are also quite durable.
3. I like the metal, round studs that border the front of the slip. They're unique, and quite eye-catching.
4. I love that this slip came with a great thong, and I adore the fact that the thong has a cotton pantyliner.

I like that it has a keyhole like hole on the back of it. (*picture shows the keyhole open, as the back bra-band strap was undone. It's your standard hook and eye closure).
6. I like that this piece is designed to simply slip on and off over your head, as that makes for easy removal when things get heated.

Now... what don't I like about it? Let's start a new list.

1.
I'm not loving the bust. The cups are molded, very (very, very) lightly padded, and feature underwire. The cups SHOULD offer some support, but my girls don't get any support at all from this. I was hoping for some kickass cleavage, but I didn't get it with this slip. My breasts just looks terrible in this!

2. I really don't like that the "wetlook" material accents my tummy pudge.

This is probably my biggest disappointment with this piece, and it's what really ruins it for me. The straps that go across the chest are not adjustable, and they are HUGE. They look floppy and messy on me, which is just the opposite of what I'm going for during playtime with my partner. In all honesty, they look worse in person! I really wish that Dreamgirl would've spent just a bit of time figuring out how to make these straps adjustable, as I really doubt that the straps would lay properly on anyone.

Quality:
The quality is surprisingly good. I didn't notice any loose threads, although the sewing around the "chest straps" is a little sloppy.

There is just nothing that I can do to make this piece work for me. It's such a shame too; this piece had such potential, but those chest straps just ruin it completely!
