A simple red gown

This is a well made gown from Fantasy Lingerie. No bells or whistles, just a plain red slip on gown. It is a little short for my wife, with the breasts and nipples visible under the fabric covering them. Maybe a slit to show some leg would be the only change that I would make to it.

Intro
For quite a while now, my wife has been wanting a red gown for the bedroom. We have wish listed some in the past, but when it came time to ordering, they were always out of stock. I found this beautiful red one in the weekly buzz quite a while ago, and it had to quickly come home to surprise my wife, before it also disappeared or was forgotten in the really large wish list.

Design
The gown has a large section of lace on the front, which flows from the breasts, narrows as it goes down the chest, then splits into two sections flowing down the legs. In between the legs, and around the rest of the gown is the semi-sheer polyester, depending on the lighting. It is a very appealing design for the front, covering the body but showing it off at the same time. The back is somewhat plain, but that is totally acceptable. The dress only has two shoulder straps coming off of it, with no slits at all. There are no bra strap hooks on the back to make the bust larger or smaller, you just have to slip it on. The material over the breasts covers my wife's nipples, but the material is sheer at this point so the nipples are visible. The tag says that this gown is 100% polyester, except for the decoration, which is lace. Luckily the care and sizing tag on the dress isn't towards the top where it could be seen, but at the very bottom of the dress at about knee level.

Fit and Sizing
Before the gown was discontinued on Eden, it was offered in S-L, and 1X-3X, and in both black and red. My wife is usually a size 4-6, with a 34 inch bust, 28 inch waist, 38 inch hips, and she is 5'9" tall. The size chart for Fantasy Lingerie says a S should fit a size 6-8, 35-37 inch bust, 26.5-28.5 inch waist, and 37.5-39.5 inch hips. I would usually go with a size M for my wife, especially after our recent experience with a size S Coquette waist cincher, but Fantasy's Lingerie size chart said she should fit in the S. Her normal problem area for fitting into things is around her chest, were depending on the company she is a S or a M.

The length of the gown was a little short for my wife, who is 5'9" tall. She doesn't have to wear heels to keep it off the floor while walking around barefoot, but it doesn't get that close to the floor barefoot at the same time. I thought that the length was fine, but she said that she wished it was longer. The rest of the gown fits well, and it is easy for her to slip it on over the head, and let it drop to the floor when finished with it. The only part that is a little tight on my wife is around the bust. She has always complained about her rib cage being really large, and this is one piece that it is was evident with. The gown fit her fine around the bust, but there wasn't much more room, and her nipples with about to pop out from under the lace with her 34D breasts.

Packaging
The packaging was very simple, and recyclable if desired. The gown was simply wrapped in pink paper, which we folded the gown back in and placed on a shelf in the closet for storage. It would probably work better to leave the gown hanging up, but our closet for our lingerie storage isn't tall enough to allow that at the moment.

Care and Maintenance
For lingerie pieces like this we usually hand wash it in cold water, then hang it up to dry. This piece could potentially be thrown into the washing machine on a delicate or hand wash cycle with a front loader, but I would be a little nervous about it getting really tangled up and twisted upon itself. Either way you go to clean it, please just hang it up to dry, or place it over a drying rack.
Experience
My wife and I have had this piece for a long time, I really couldn't say when we first received it. I held onto submitting this review until she could wear it again for another impression, but it just hasn't happened. Between it being folded on the shelf, and her not wearing lingerie that often, and me being home only a few days a week, it hasn't come back out since its first viewing. I do believe she still enjoys the piece, she just doesn't wear lingerie that often. Maybe once every month or so.

Thanks for the great review! I'm seriously bummed this is discontinued. It's gorgeous. I agree that a leg slit would be an awesome feature.
