Lace top thigh high - thigh highs discontinued by Leg Avenue - review by Jul!a

My very first lingerie review was on these stocking, but in hot pink. I ended up with these quite by accident, and after figuring out just which stockings they were exactly, I wasn't so thrilled. But I've learned a lot since I first wrote that review, and even the follow up, and thought that these deserved another shot.

The packaging was similar to what I've seen from Leg Avenue in the past, but still something new to me with a design very reminiscent of a classy lingerie shop, at least to me. It does also have the sizing guidelines of 90-160 pounds and the material listing of 100% Nylon. They also say to hand wash warm and drip dry, but I have run the other pair through the washing machine and dryer with my regular laundry and had no ill effects. I'd recommend putting them in a lingerie bag or pillow case and washing them on cold on a low setting, and then letting them air dry. Afterwards you can store them wherever you store the rest of your delicates.

The design is very simple; sheer stockings with no backseam and a lace top. The lace around the top is a lovely floral-esque pattern and about 3" tall. When laid flat it measures just over 7" across and stretches up to about 9". The stockings themselves are a sheer nylon. They're far from being opaque, but it'll cover any slight imperfections. Dark things like tattoos will still show through easily, but if you're wearing make-up to cover the tattoo, you shouldn't be able to see it. They're also pretty stretchy, stretching up to 4' (seriously) when not being worn. They don't seem like they're going to hold up for really long term use or particularly rough abuse, but you won't have to be super careful either. You should always make sure your toenails are nice and trimmed because in addition to a snag or a run on the way down, the lack of reinforced toe is easier for a stray nail to pop through accidentally.

Where the tops sat on me now measures about 21 1/2" around and they were pretty comfortable on me. No muffin topping or anything. They do stretch out very well, and will easily fit folks with longer legs as well. From my heel to where the top sat measures out at about 26" and they were sitting pretty high up on my thigh. There was room for them to go up higher, but not much I don't think. It was hard to tell because there was only a few more inches until my bikini line. I do feel that these will fit long legs nicely and sit more where stockings "should" sit.

They don't stay up on their own very well. If they're tight enough on you to not fall down at all, they're probably going to be digging in and looking generally unpleasant. However a garter belt will keep these up beautifully. The clips fit perfectly in the parts of the lace that are more sheer.

And now for some pictures. I could have taken the time to put both stockings on, but it was really hot when I went to do my picture taking and the less I had on the better.



And how the top fits around a 21 1/2" thigh:

I really am so glad I decided to give these another chance. I have a lot of stockings, and even a lot of pairs of black stockings, but I only have maybe one pair that I don't find uncomfortable in at least one manner. After caving in and giving these another shot and loving the fact that the only real irritation I had when wearing them was the fact that the garter clips were digging into the underside of my thigh from sitting and there was something inside of them that was stuck on my foot when I put them on, I'm a lot happier. I then started to quickly realize that I definitely didn't give the hot pink ones a fair enough shot, and I got them back out for another test run. First I couldn't believe that I somehow still had them, and then with a garter belt I was able to wear them for longer periods of time comfortably. If I could take back and redo that other review, I would.

These still aren't the long term answer for anything, but they do look good and feel very nice if you wear them right.
