Black lace petticoat - petticoat discontinued by Coquette - review by T&A1987

For the Black lace Petticoat, like any other piece of lingerie, can be judged through several different categories: size, comfort, wearability, appearance, price and material.

Size

Size is the shining jewel of the skirt, with the possible exception of price. According to the size chart, this should be able to fit anyone from size 4-14, but in actuality, it can fit larger sizes. My girlfriend, a size 14-16, wore the skirt without any problem, but she was within the normal boundaries of the skirt, so that doesn’t say much.

In an effort to better understand the feel and fit better, I also wore the skirt, which fit rather well. It was neither tight, nor constricting, which is revealing, as I’m probably a 20-22 on the female size chart. This represents the wide range of sizes available for the petticoat, from 4, to probably around a 24 or 28, allowing women of any size to enjoy this product.

Comfort

While the waist is not constricting, that doesn’t mean the petticoat is entirely comfortable. Once the petticoat is worn, it immediately starts to itch and spread. While the immediate itching settles around the butt, every move brushes it against the skin, exacerbating the situation.
Material issues aside, petticoat is quite comfortable. It allows for a full range of motion in the legs, allowing for strenuous, or convoluted sexual positions, along with simple movement. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to move past the itching, which relegates this to a short seduction piece, not long wear.

Wearability

The waist is elastic, slips on like sweatpants or shorts and allows for a wide array of movement. Aside from the aforementioned itchy issues, there are no wearability problems with this petticoat.

Appearance

The appearance of the petticoat is quite alluring in fact it’s what stood out the most before ordering. The skirt is youthful and whimsical, reminiscent of a school girl uniform, or maid outfit, mixed with seductive lace. It offers both an opportunity for basic seduction, but also roleplay.

Rather than a thick material, it’s several layers of translucent black material. A partner could see through the petticoat to view parts of the lower stomach region or upper leg, but the pubic area remains obscured. This maintains an air of mystery for the wearer, without being prudish.

Unless of course you’re me. As mentioned before, I tried on the petticoat in order to better understand the material and I modeled it for my girlfriend. The reaction was that it was cute, but not on a man and it doesn’t flatter all figures.

Price

While there are some reasons not to buy this petticoat, at $11.99 price is not one of them. It’s only slightly more expensive than a normal pair of panties, and is far cheaper than a costume, corset or most other forms of lingerie. This petticoat is an excellent choice for lingerie on a budget, making it the second best aspect.

Material

The petticoat is made of polyester, which as mentioned, has some flaws, IE the itchiness, but also strengths. Polyester is a sturdy material, able to handle heavy wear and tear without deteriorating. Further, the cleaning process is manageable, although it is hand wash only. Mix it with a tub of warm water and a light detergent. It may also be ironed if need be without risking damage.

There are few things wrong with the petticoat. It's affordable, cute, enticing, easy to wear and clean. The only problem, that kept coming up was the itchy material, but that's only a problem if worn for prolonged periods of time.
