Nude affair corset & g-string - corset discontinued by Fantasy Lingerie - review by Nothere

Before ordering this corset & g string duo I had never owned a piece of lingerie. Sure, I'm a huge fan of bras and panties, But, I had never owned any real lingerie. I had no corsets, no chemises, no baby dolls, no body stockings etc. Now, I am the owner of a corset and g-string!

The Nude Affair Corset & G- String really is just a bustier and thong. Here it is!



The so called g string is not really a g string. It's a thong. Here's the front.

As you can tell, the back is definitely not stringy enough to be a thong. Regardless, it is a pretty piece. It has a dramatic V bordered by metal boning and has 7 panels of lace with 6 pieces of plastic boning. It is made of polyester and has this silky nude material overlaid with black lace. The thong is also the same black lace on nude. The bustier has two demi cups with under wire but no padding at all. The cups are bordered on top with a nice black gauzy material that also shows up at the bottom of the bustier. The bustier is held up by two straps. The straps are very very thin and not removable. It has not ripped, but it does not seem that sturdy.

Now, this comes in three sizes: S, M, and L. I got mine in a size Large which fits sizes 14 -16 with Bust measurements 39 - 41 in., waist measurements, 30½ - 32½, and hip measurements 42½ - 44½. Now, for references' sake I am a 12-14 in dress size and am about 42-31-42. I'm not quite bigger on top than on the bottom, but I'm definitely not bottom heavy. Therefore, I felt that the thong fit the best out of the two. The bustier did fit surprisingly well. My stomach is quite far from being flat which means that I am 2-3 sizes bigger on top than on the bottom. But, as far as fit goes, the bustier did fit quite well. There were two sets of hooks. Right now it is hooked on the further set and fits well. It is not too tight on the stomach area, which is quite good. But, it is too small up top, which is bad. My breasts are Ds but, they do not really seem that large. Proportionally speaking and because they are more pointy than round, I spill out of the sides while not being able to fully fill the cups in the front.

The thong fit perfectly for me, but my hips are at the low end of the size range. The thong is made of polyester and does not have a cotton crotch. If you are prone to yeast infections, I would recommend not wearing the thong for prolonged periods of time, but it certainly is comfortable enough to.

The overall quality is decent. It is not particularly high quality, but it is not badly made. For the price, I would say that this is a decent buy. The straps are not particularly sturdy, but the rest of the piece seems strong. You can machine wash it cold and line dry, but I prefer to hand wash it just to be safe. You have to be careful when caring for this because the lace is delicate. So careful with long nails!

I'm not totally sure how I feel about this piece. It is my first lingerie, so I have nothing to compare it too. But, still I get the feeling that it is not exceptional. The fit is decent. It covers up my stomach, which is good, but does not make my breasts look very good. I do not understand how the model in the picture is able to have round, pushed up breasts without any padding. The picture is definitely misleading. Unless you have naturally (or surgically enhanced)plump, high sitting breasts, this style will not be very flattering for them. Mine definitely looked lackluster in this one.

Another thing that I found annoying was the length. I am most definitively not tall. I'm just under 5'6. But, the bustier was too short for me. It did not quite cover all of my stomach, and there was a reverse muffin top going on if I shifted wrong. If you have a flat stomach, you should not have a problem. But, if you are looking to cover up your tummy and you know you have a long torso, then take heed.

Overall, I did feel quite sexy in this. It is a bit uncomfortable to wear for extended periods of time; it is hard to sit down with the boning and the lace does itch after a while. It is not meant to be for long term wear; I think it is more decorative. It is a lovely piece and perfect for a sexy night it.

I have not had much occasion to wear this, but I still like it. It has held up well and is still in great shape!
