Barely There (L)

Anybody looking for a simple, no frills slip will do good to check this one out. There's not much to the design, but that works to its favor here. The simple design simply disappears under dresses and smooths out any lines you may have had. It can even double as lingerie if you feel super sexy in it, or as a nightgown.

There wasn't a lot to the packaging to this. There's a tag on the inside of the slip (and the included thong) that give you materials, care, and sizing. Your slip is 88% Polyester and 12% Spandex and should be machine washed warm on gentle and tumble dried low. Yay for lingerie that can be machine washed!

I had a hard time deciding on a size to get this in. I knew that I wanted something that was going to lay a bit loose since having a slip that shows everything underneath felt like it defeated the purpose of having a slip, but I didn't want anything too baggy. I finally settled on a medium, but it was out of stock so I went with the large. According to Fantasy Lingerie, that means I should be between a size 14-16, with a 39-41" bust, 30 1/2 - 32 1/2" waist, and 42 1/2 - 44 1/2" hips. I'm 5'2", about a size 6, I weigh about 120, around my bust measures 32" and underneath measures about 28 1/2". I've got about a 29" waist and measure about 34" around the top of my hips and 38" around my butt and wear a good solid B cup. It was comfortably loose on me, and while it didn't make me look super sexy or anything else overly flattering, I didn't really mind because it's meant to be worn under stuff and that's how I wore it.

So the main part of this is the slip. It's very basic in its design, which is good. It features adjustable straps that feel like a silky ribbon, and there's a small amount of rouching between the breasts. There are no designated cups, and nothing as far as breast support if you want to wear it without a bra. Along the top of the breasts is some scallopy lace. This section may fall over a bit instead of laying flat, but it didn't take much for me to get it to sit correctly. From armpit to armpit is 14 1/2" across when laid flat, and stretches up to about 20", although at this point it might be digging in. From under the armpit to the bottom of the hem is about 24" with the bottom 2" being for the lace trim. The lace across the bottom isn't stretchy, but there's a slit on the left side that goes about 9 1/2" up. From that point across is about 18" unstretched and stretches up to about 21" across.

The thong was loose on me, but comfortably so. It's not something I really want to wear all day, but it won't be the most uncomfortable thing you put on. It's a g-string style and has a stretchy waistband. When laid flat it measures 14 1/2" across and stretches up to about 22", but again it will probably be digging in at this point. The triangle is just over 6" across, 8" tall, and features a small crotch liner. The liner is nice, but likely won't be super effective.

The main portions of both the slip and the thong feel very nice to the touch. Soft, silky, they feel like they stretch. I can't quite put my finger on what I think of specifically when I touch them but I end up thinking about gym clothing. The overall craftsmanship wasn't too bad, but there was a loose thread here and there. Nothing big, but still there. I found everything comfortable to wear all night, although more sensitive skin might be irritated by the lace along the top of the breasts.

As always, a few photos for you.

Experience
It took me a long time to decide that I really did need a slip. I mean, I don't often end up even getting to wear dresses, let alone something I may need a slip underneath. By the time I decided that I'd be happy with a medium, the medium was out of stock. I ended up needing it rather quickly to wear with my One shoulder dress, so when choosing between a small and a large, I went with the large figuring that if it was too big I could make it smaller, but if it was too small it wouldn't work anyway. I'm very happy with the large. It's comfortably roomy without feeling like I've got a lot of extra room, and it's long enough that should I want to wear it as a nightie and then walk around the house I can. Because of how well it fit me I felt like it ran small, but when I toyed around with it and measurements some more I really felt like it did run pretty true to size according to the listed measurements. Just ignore what size it has listed and go by the measurements, and if you can, buy a size up for some extra room.
