Cute Crochet

The Quarter Crochet Net Thigh Highs by René Rofé are a nice pair of thigh highs as long as you don't mind wearing garter straps with them. The band rolls so you'll need to have something holding them up. The netting design is pretty and the stockings are very stretchy in both width and length. I'm 5'6 and I'm able to pull them all the way to the top of my thighs so they'll work well for those who are taller. Despite the few flaws, I'm very happy with them.

extremely useful review
The Quarter Crochet Net Thigh Highs by René Rofé are available in one-size-fits-most only. The thigh highs arrived in a plastic packaging. The front of the package states the company name, product name, size, and has a photo of a model wearing the stockings. The back of the packaging has the same information as the front, a back view of the model wearing the stockings, and states the material composition, care instructions, company contact information, and website.

Inside of the packaging, the stockings are wrapped around a thin piece of cardboard. The packaging is not ideal for storing the stockings. The only reason you may want to keep the packaging is if you want to hold on to the care instructions since the stockings don’t have care tags in them. I just keep my thigh highs in my sock drawer. The packaging can be recycled.

The thigh highs are 100% nylon and are stretchy in both width and length. The stockings are all black in colour and have a netted design to them. The bands at the top of the thigh highs are just less than 2 inches in length. The bands are a double layer of material so they are a bit thicker. The toe areas are not reinforced.

I’ve taken a few measurements of the thigh highs laying flat. If you need any additional measurements, please send me a message and I will get them for you.

Band at top of stocking unstretched: 4 ¾ inches
Band at top of stocking stretched as much as I could: 16 ½ inches
Length of thigh high unstretched: 23 ¼ inches
Length of thigh high stretched as much as I could: a bit over 60 inches

The size chart on the René Rofé website states that the OSFM is best for those between the weights of 90-160lbs. I’m in the high 160’s. The suggested weight bracket is not completely reliable for determining whether or not the stockings will fit you. It really depends on where you hold your weight. If you are top heavy with a thinner lower body, you shouldn’t have a problem even if you’re slightly above the suggested weight. Sadly, I’ve got really thick legs and thighs.

I’m 5’6 in height and the length works nicely for me. I’m actually able to pull the stocking all the way up to the top of my thighs (basically up to my crotch). So the length is good and would work well for those who are taller than myself. The bands to the thigh highs start to create muffin top at a circumference of 22 inches. So if you’re thigh is smaller in circumference than that, you shouldn’t have any muffin top issue.

The band wasn’t painful at a 22+ inch circumference but it just didn’t look as nice. I purchased the thigh highs to wear beneath skirts while out in public so no one would see the muffin top anyway. You could also wear the stockings in the bedroom with some nice lingerie. You can see in the photos below that the more you need to stretch the thigh highs, the more stretched the pattern looks. That first photo is the stocking on my arm (obviously much thinner than my leg) and that second photo shows you the pattern to the stocking when it’s stretched on my upper thigh.

After putting the stockings on, the bands quickly began to roll. To avoid the rolling bands you could just attach garter straps to the thigh highs. I found that if I pulled the thigh highs all the way up to the top of my thighs, where my legs meet my crotch, that they stayed nicely up there without garters. Of course, you don’t want to do this if you’re wearing them in the bedroom but if you are wearing them under a skirt and don’t have/like garters then it works great. Also, you’ll want to wear close toed shoes with the thigh highs because your toes will poke through the netting.

Other than the toes poking through the netting, I found the thigh highs to be really comfortable. I did not experience any skin irritation while wearing them. The packaging states that the thigh highs should be hand washed in cold water and drip-dried. They should not be bleached, ironed, or dry-cleaned.

Overall, I really like the stockings. I’ve deducted one star from the rating for the rolling band and the fact that the toes are not reinforced. I love the pattern, they’re comfortable, and a great price! Below are a couple photos of me wearing the stockings.
