Ashley Boutique striped boyshort - sexy panties by Oh La La Cheri - review by Breas

The Ashley Boutique Striped Boyshort by Oh La La Cheri is available in sizes S-XL. I had purchased the size XL. Normally I wouldn’t spend $19 on a pair of underwear but I had decided to treat myself during a sale. I purchased both the underwear and the matching bra, which is sold separately.

The underwear arrived on a plastic hanger and the underwear was surrounded by clear plastic. There was a cardboard tag attached to the underwear that stated the company name, website, product name, and size. The hanger could be used to store the underwear but I just keep my underwear in a drawer.

The boyshort is 90% nylon and 10% spandex. The front of the panty has thin, vertical lines running down it. The lines are black and white. The entire back of the panty is white, floral patterned lace. Both front and back of the panty is stretchy. The front does not become sheer the more it is stretched and the back, being lace, is sheer. The leg holes and waistband are trimmed with elastic band so these areas are stretchy as well.





I’ve taken a few measurements of the underwear laying flat, not stretched. If you need any other measurements, please send me a message and I’d be happy to get them for you.

Waistband unstretched: 15 ¾ inches
Waistband stretched as much as I could: 31 ½ inches
Length down side of panty (not including lace trim): 3 ½ inches
Length of liner: 4 ¼ inches

There is a black bow made of ribbon at the top, centre front of the panty. The bow measures 1 ¼ inches wide and 3 inches in length. It could easily be removed with a seam ripper or pair of scissors if you didn’t like it. There is white, lace trim around each leg hole. The trim does not go around the entire leg holes. The trim goes around about 2/3 of each leg hole. It sits at the back, front, and outside of the leg. There is no lace around the inside of the leg hole (where your inner thighs are-near your crotch).

The lace trim is approximately 5/8 of an inch in length. The trim has a slightly ruffled look to it. The lace trim is sewn to the elastic band around the leg holes so the more you need to stretch the elastic, the less ruffled the trim will look. I was a bit surprised at how dark the black lines are that run down the front of the panty. The stock photo makes the lines look much more subtle and more of a grey/white colour.

My hip measurement is 41 inches. I have thick thighs and a fairly big bum. I eventually found a size chart for the company and the suggested hip measurements for the size XL is between 42-46 inches. When purchasing underwear, I always go with the XL because even though I’m a tad below the suggested measurements, the size large underwear tends to give me muffin top. Also, the XL accommodates my larger thighs and bum.



The panty fit me “okay”. It really wasn’t anything spectacular. The underwear does not fit me the way it does for the model in the stock photo. It almost seems as if the underwear she is wearing is longer down the sides, creating the boyshort look. Or maybe it’s because I’ve got the thick thighs. Either way, it does not look like that at all (on me).

The waistband fit fine and the sizing seems to be accurate. If you're on the higher end of the hip measurements, the waistband may create a bit more muffin top than you'd like. When I wore the underwear, I noticed a bit of muffin top but nothing I couldn't tolerate. The material to the panty is comfortable and I did not find the lace back or lace trim to be irritating against the skin. One thing I didn’t like about the trim was that it would flip upwards at the front. I’m almost positive this is because I have really thick thighs. The lace trim at the back stayed down nicely but the front kept flipping up. It wasn’t uncomfortable when it flipped upwards- it just didn’t look nice.

The quality of the underwear is excellent. There were no loose threads or uneven stitching. The panty seems to be durable and should last a long time as long as they are properly taken care of. The accents to the underwear do not create any bulk to the panty. It would be fine to wear beneath clothing while out in public.

The care tag states that the underwear should be hand washed only and hung to dry. The underwear should not be bleached. You may want to cut the tag out of the underwear because while the back of the tag is white, it can still be seen through the lace back of the underwear.

The underwear are great quality but for almost $20- it better be. I personally don’t like the underwear. I don’t find the underwear flattering for my size. If you have thicker thighs like I do, you probably won’t like the way it looks either. Also, the bit of lace that flips upwards is just frustrating. The only part of the panty that I find somewhat attractive is the look of the lace back. I’ve deducted 2 stars from the rating for the high price and the fact that it doesn’t work as well for those with the thicker thighs and bum (like me).
