Diamond lace fishnet thigh high - thigh highs discontinued by DreamGirl - review by Breas

The Diamond Lace Fish Net Thigh Highs by DreamGirl are available only in one-size-fits-most. I wear an XL but can sometimes squeeze myself into the OSFM items. I really loved the look of these thigh highs so I figured it was worth a shot.

The thigh highs arrived in a cardboard package surrounded by plastic. The front of the packaging states the company name, product size, and colour. There is also a photo of a front view of a model wearing the thigh highs. The back of the package includes the same information as the front as well as a brief product description, material composition, weight bracket suggested for the one-size, care instructions, and the company website. There is also a photo of the back view of the model wearing the stockings. I don’t consider the packaging to be ideal for storing the stockings. I keep mine in my sock drawer. The packaging can be recycled.



Inside of the plastic bag and cardboard packaging, the thigh highs are within another plastic packaging and wrapped around a thin piece of cardboard. The stockings are 90% nylon and 10% spandex. The material is quite stretchy. I’ve taken a few measurements of the stockings laying flat, unstretched. If you need additional measurements, please let me know and I will get them for you.

The band at the top of each thigh high is a thick, double layer of material. The band does not have the netting pattern like the rest of the stocking does. The only other part of the stocking that is not netted is the toe area because they are reinforced.

The red ribbon that goes around the top area of the thigh high does not arrive already laced up. You’ll have to do this yourself. It’s fairly easy though because the holes to lace the ribbon through are rather large. You can also stretch the material to make the holes a bit larger. The red ribbon is approximately 39 inches in length. If you don’t like the red ribbon, you could always just not use it with the stockings or replace the lace with another ribbon you prefer.

So as I had mentioned, I usually wear a size XL. The packaging states that the OSFM is best suited for those in the weight bracket of 90-160lbs. I’m slightly above the highest number in that bracket. I think what’s more important when you’re on the larger end of this weight bracket is knowing where your weight sits. Some people have smaller legs and larger tummies, or vice versa. My legs are quite thick and I have chubby thighs.

The length of the thigh highs fit me well. A person who is a few inches taller than me could work with the length. The issue I did have was the dreaded muffin top. At about 22 inches in circumference, muffin top starts to form (this basically just means that the band starts cutting into the meaty area and the chub starts to almost hang over the sides). If where you plan on having the band sit on your thigh has a circumference of less than 22 inches, you don’t have to worry about this.

Another thing worth noting is that the more you need to stretch the stocking, the more stretched the design will look on your legs. The design is definitely stretched on my legs and it looks much different than on the legs of the stock photo model. I’ve included a few photos of me wearing the stockings below. The first is a front view with no flash, second is a front view with flash, and the third is a back view.



You can see in all of the photos that the design really looks stretched out. It’s not terribly ugly or anything but it’s not what I expected. Also, I didn’t do the lacing up like the model has in the stock photo.

The band did roll a little bit but I didn’t have any issues with the stockings falling down my legs. If you experience this, you could always attach the stockings to a garter belt. The material seems quite durable and should last for a while as long as you take care of them.

The stockings were easy to put on; you just need to make sure you align the larger holes down the back of each stocking with the centre of your leg. The material was comfortable against my skin and I have no complaints of irritation while wearing them. The packaging states that the stockings should be hand washed separately in cold water and line dried. The thigh highs should not be bleached.

Overall, I think they are a great pair of thigh highs for both bedroom wear and to wear beneath a skirt while out in public. I don’t think I’ll be wearing these in the bedroom because the band gives me muffin thighs but I’ll wear them beneath a skirt because no one will be able to see the muffin top action that’s happening.
