Demi cup bra and panty - bra and panty set discontinued by Coquette - review by SMichelle

On the model, this piece looks like the ultimate sexy piece. The reality, however, was much different. This piece did nothing for my body, and made me feel like an old lady.


What's Included:
This is a two piece set that includes a demi-cup bra and a pair of matching panties.

Material and Care:
Both the bra and panties are made out of 82% Nylon and 18% Spandex. Both pieces are very soft to the touch, and are not itchy at all. The material on both items is also extremely stretchy.

The front of the panties are mesh, whereas the back is a lace pattern. Both parts are see-through.

The demi-cup portion of the bra is lightly lined, and so it is not see through at all. The white mesh, which is the bulk of the bra cups, is transparent.

The bow on the bra is made out of a satiny material. It's soft and smooth, but it does feel (and look) a bit cheap.

To care for this set, it is recommended that you hand wash it, and then hang it to dry. That said, you could also put this in a mesh bag and wash it on the delicate cycle.

Sizing:
Coquette has made this piece available in four sizes; small, medium, large, and extra large. I purchased the large.

According to the size chart, the large should fit someone with the following measurements:
Cups: C
Bust: 38-40"
Waist: Irrelevant with this set
Hips: 40-42"

I wear a large C or small D cup, and my hips measure around 40". Under my bust, I measure about 33". I was expecting this piece to be a little loose around the band, but I figured that it was best that I order a large due my cup and hip size.

All in all, the bra did fit okay, I guess. It just wasn't very flattering. The band was very loose, but the cups did technically fit me.

As for the panties? I tried them on over a pair of my own panties as I knew I would be returning this set. They fit me okay, but they were a bit loose. So loose, in fact, that they sort of rolled over at the top -- and that's with another pair of panties underneath them! I could see them easily fitting someone with slightly larger measurements than Coquette recommends.

I took some measurements of the pieces while laying flat.

On the smallest possible hook setting, the bra measured 12", unstretched, while laying flat. Stretched, it measured 18".

Unhooked and laying flat, it measured 26" unstretched. Stretched, it came to around 40".

While laying flat, the panties measured 14" unstretched. They were 22" when stretched.

Design:
The bra has a demi cup design. The demi cup is lighted padded, and measures about 3" high (from the underwire). A thin piece of mesh fabric extends from the demi cup. The mesh fabric measures about 5" high while stretched, so this piece does offer some coverage. For me, the demi cup did not cover my nipples, and the mesh fabric made my breasts look strange. The mesh fabric also did not look "flowy" and "whimsical" as it appears in the stock photos -- rather, the mesh stretched completely, and just made me look like I was wearing a really bad granny-style bra.

For those of you who don't like bows? You're going to want to avoid this piece. The bra has a huge bow right in the center, as well as two smaller bows where the shoulder straps connect to the bra. The panties also have two bows on them. The bows could probably be removed with a seam ripper, but removing the center bow may ruin the entire design. That said, I didn't care for the center bow in person. It just appeared messy when the bra was on.

The panties are mesh in the front, and lace is the back. They are designed so that they will cover most of your behind, while still showing a little. Really, the panties would be very sexy -- if only they fit me better. The lace design of the panties is a floral pattern which matches the band of the bra.

For those who are curious, these panties do not have a liner.

Packaging:
This set arrived wrapped in a plastic bag, and then wrapped in pink tissue paper. There was no hanger included with this set, but that's not really a problem as I don't hang up my bras and panties anyway.

Quality:
The quality is okay. There are some areas where there are loose threads, and still others where it looks like the sewing was done in a bit of a hurry. The worst part of this piece, in my opinion, is the large bow in the front. The bow looks cheap, and it appears like it will fall off at any moment. That said, the quality is not terrible for a set that only costs $21.99.

Personal Comments:
I'm so disappointed that this set was a flop for me. I think that the mesh on the bra would look better on someone with smaller breasts, though.

I wanted to like this, so I tried for awhile to make it work for me, but... Well, in the end it was a mess. The piece doesn't look like the picture, and the bra did nothing for my chest.

I sent it back for a refund as I couldn't justify having it in my collection as I knew I'd never wear it.
