Halter wrap dress - gown by Leg Avenue - review by AtlantisLovely

When I saw this dress, I thought that it would be a perfect outfit to add to my fetish clothing collection. It is sexy and see through, but also elegant at the same time. When I first took it out of the package I was surprised to find the fabric wasn't as smooth as I had expected. It didn't have a silky feel like I was hoping for, but it wasn't rough either. The fabric is 100% nylon which forms a sheer mesh with very fine holes. A ruffle of the same material surrounds the edges of the skirt and crosses underneath.

When I tried on the dress for the first time, I found that it didn't hang as well as I had hoped on my body. It seemed a little crumpled and not as sleek as I had hoped. After checking some sources to see if it would be safe, I decided to try to iron the dress. I set the iron to the lowest setting and crossed my fingers and begun ironing. I was pleasantly rewarded by the fabric smoothing out nicely. Once it was all ironed and cooled down I put the dress on again. This time it fell much nicer!

The one design part I didn't like though was the way that the ruffle of the skirt continued all the way up to where it meets with the other side of the dress. This means the ruffle is crossing underneath the other layer cutting diagonally across the stomach, just to underneath the right breast. This made the dress area over the stomach not lay as flat as I would have liked.

As far as fit goes, I believe that the package on it is correct when it says one size fits all, within a weight of between 100-150 lbs. I am 5'3", 135 lbs and this dress fit me very well. My C cup breasts managed to fit into the dress just fine, and I could tell that the extra length left on the halter ties would accommodate a longer body than mine easily. The skirt fell down to the ground in the back, and crossed in the front just at my underwear line.

The underwear that came with the outfit were very see-through, and although fine for a night at home, they didn't work for my plans to wear this gown out to the fetish club. Instead I chose a pair of lace panties to wear with the outfit. I also chose a gemstone necklace, and earrings that nicely accented the gemstone heart detail on the dress. Finally, a pair of high heels made the outfit complete. Looking in the mirror I was satisfied that I would turn heads.

Out at the club, the dress got many complements. I did find that the back of the gown dragged on the ground a bit when I went down stairs. This caused it to get stepped on quite a few times, but it didn't cause any damage to the dress. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't rip!

For care this dress needs to be hand washed only, and hung to dry. It does wrinkle very easily, and will need to be kept stored hanging and be ironed before each wearing. However, it does seem like a rather durable garment. I hope to have it to wear for many more years.

Although I do still really like this outfit, it hasn't held up very well. The ruffle along the bottom has ripped in a few places and started to separate from the main dress. This is probably due to the fact that I'm too short and the bottom drags on the ground a bit. I've caught it on my heel a few times. I knew that this was a fragile item before, just the fabric alone results in that...and I'm really not too gentle on it (wearing it to clubs). Oh well!
