Excellent to Wear Beneath Form-Fitting Outfits

The Holiday Black Panty by Coquette works really nicely beneath form-fitting clothing because the panty is almost seamless. The material is ridiculously soft and comfortable to wear. I won't be wearing it in the bedroom because I have much sexier looking underwear but it'll definitely get wear beneath my clothing.

Important to note: The XL is actually OS/XL. I explain the differences in my review. This panty has no elastic waistband so it's extra important to get the correct size.

The Holiday Black Panty by Coquette is available in one-size-fits-most and XL. The XL is actually OS/XL. The panty is available in the colours black or red. I had purchased the black panty in size XL.

The panty is folded neatly within a plastic package when it arrives. There is a barcode sticker on the package that states the product name, size, and colour. There is no other text or images on the packaging. There is a cardboard tag attached to the panty that has a few images of a model wearing the underwear and states the company name, website, product name, size, and colour. I don’t find the packaging to be ideal for storing the underwear. I just keep mine in my underwear drawer.

The panty is 90% nylon and 10% spandex. The material is really stretchy, thin, and soft. The panty is not sheer and does not become sheer the more it is stretched. There is a liner in the crotch of the underwear. I’ve taken a few measurements of the panty laying flat both stretched and not stretched. If you need any additional measurements, please send message and I will get them for you.

Waistband unstretched: 17 ¼ inches
Waistband stretched as much as I could: 35 inches
Length of panty (taken down side): 4 ½ inches
Length of liner: a smidge over 3 inches
Width of liner: 2 ¼ inches

The panty doesn’t have seam lines on the sides of the underwear like most do. However, they are not seamless. There is a seam line that runs vertically up the centre back of the panty (along your bum crack). There are also seam lines where the liner was stitched into the crotch of the panty.

The XL that I had purchased is actually the OS/XL. This is important to note since the suggested measurements are not the same for the two on Coquette’s size chart. The XL has a suggested hip measurement of 42-46 inches while the OS/XL gives a suggested hip measurement of 42-50 inches! The company’s size chart also gives a suggested weight bracket of 170-200lbs for the OS/XL size. The suggested weight is less important though because it really depends on where you hold the weight.

I weight in the high 160’s and my hip measurement is 41 ½ inches. I typically go with the XL rather than the OSFM because the OSFM highest suggested hip measurement is 40 inches. I found that the OS/XL panty fit me nicely; it wasn’t too large or too small. If you’re hip measurement is even just a tad smaller than mine, you’ll probably want to go with the OSFM.

The panty doesn’t have an elastic waistband. The fabric is cut straight across at the top of the panty and the leg holes are just holes cut into the fabric. That being said, it’s really important you choose the right size (especially if you’re in between sizes) because if it’s even a bit large at the hips, they’ll be sliding down while you wear them. I did have a bit of an issue with the top centre back of the panty. With no elastic to hold the waistband to my body, I found that I had to give myself a bit of a wedgy so that the panty wouldn’t gap. I assume it gapped because I have a fairly large bum.

The other, very minor, issue that I had was the tag location. The care tag in the panty is further down the back of the panty. I found it to be slightly annoying. I’d recommend cutting the tag out before wearing them. The material to the panty is very soft and comfortable against the skin. I didn’t have any issues with skin irritation while wearing it.

The quality of the panty seems to be good. There were a couple of loose threads at the crotch liner but these can be easily trimmed. The panty seems durable but only time will tell. I’m concerned that with time the waistband and leg holes will begin fraying. I’ll update with a follow-up review to let you know if this happens eventually. The care tag states that the underwear should be hand washed and hung to dry.

Overall, I think it’s a comfortable panty and I like that it’s (almost) seamless. I can’t see myself wearing the underwear in the bedroom very often because I have much sexier looking underwear for that purpose. They’re great to wear beneath tighter fitting dresses and similar clothing though! I’ve deducted one star because while they’re nice, I didn’t find them perfect. If you have a larger bum, you may have to wedgy yourself like I had to.
