French maid bustier - costume discontinued by Coquette - review by Eyesonfire

This black and white french maid bustier is a cute variation of the traditional french maid costume. This set includes a bustier with removable black straps and garters, white lace wrist cuffs, and black headband with a black square trimmed in white lace.

When I received this, the shape was slightly off from being folded into the box. After getting it out, it went back to its intended shape fairly easy.

The bustier has hook and eye closures on the back. The bustier top is slightly padded with no real breast support or under wire of any kind. It was comfortable but not the most flattering. An under wire would have helped a lot, but when I paired this with a bra, it was easily fixable. The bust features a black bow on the top in the center as well as 2 bows on the trim of the bustier, and there is also small bows on the lace wrist cuffs.

It says it has no boning however in the front, but where the lace details are, you can feel thin plastic boning. It does not do much other than help with the shape slightly.

The bustier is a really cute piece. It could be worn easily outside of the bedroom. The fabric is thin but not sheer. It was pretty comfortable as far as bustiers go.

The headband was simple and did stand up when worn.

The garters and straps were unimpressive due to the plastic clips.


This bustier is nylon/ spandex and reasonably stretchy. The material is very soft and only slightly itchy under the arms where the lace trim is. Instructions on the tag are to hand wash and hang dry.

This piece has held up well. I have only spot cleaned it so far, but it was very easy and is still sexy as ever!
