Joan chemise and robe - chemise discontinued by Seven 'til Midnight - review by Various

The set arrived in a flat plastic bag with both pieces folded inside. When you remove the items from the bag, they have a very light almost chemically smell to them, however it fades quickly. As always I took the time to look over each piece carefully to inspect the seams for any flaws or anything that would signal that I needed to be careful when wearing the item and found none. Just like with every other Seven ‘til Midnight piece I own, the sewing was immaculate and strong.





Since the robe was what I was the most excited about, I decided I would go ahead and try on the chemise, so when I was let down I would have it left to lift spirits. The chemise is a total of 32 inches long from the top to the bottom hem. The back has crisscrossing straps with an open back that closes near the hips, and then has another small opening that goes down almost enough to show a crack in a full moon and can be adjusted for a better fit. Even with the ability to adjust the size, I still found this chemise to be a little snug around my hips, but it was not uncomfortable or unflattering. The cups of this chemise offer minimal support, but they fit my DD breasts perfectly. I was surprised by how much I liked the way this chemise looked on my body and that I was in fact not disappointed with it.




The robe is a total of 37 inches from the top of the collar to the bottom hem and has arms that are 15 inches long. Because of the loose fit of the robe, the arms actually cover the entire length of my arm down to my wrist. The robe has two loops that hold a plain black belt to tie it shut (I ordered the 3X-4X and the belt was 83 inches long. I was more than impressed with the fit of this robe. It was loose, comfortable, and easy to slip on and off.




The material of both pieces is 97% polyester and 3% spandex and should be hand-washed in cold water and line-dried to prevent damage. The outsides are silky and smooth, and while the inside is comfortable, it is not silky like the outside. I enjoy wearing the robe quite often, but because of the material it can get pretty hot after a while if it is tied closed.

Even though I only wanted the robe, and was sure I would be disappointed by the chemise, I am satisfied with both pieces. I do wish the chemise had some extra space for my large hips, and that the inside was as silky and soft as the outside, but overall these are great pieces that left me impressed. Although the material makes these pieces look rich, they are priced perfectly for the quality and will leave any shaped woman feeling incredibly sexy.
