Teddiette coat set - teddy and stockings set discontinued by Escante - review by Vegan Silk

I was very excited to be getting this piece in the mail. Lingerie is always hit or miss for me. I'm right between the large and extra-large sizes. I was worried about that, but the the color looked so phenomenal I had to try it. When I got my package I was not disappointed by the color. The gorgeous turquoise goes really well with my skin tone.

The set comes with a shrug, the teddy and, some thigh high black stockings. I will first discuss the shrug and stockings, then get into the heart of the review of the teddy itself.

Shrug

I wanted to start with the shrug, because I absolutely adore it! The material is the same as the teddy, a fine stretchy mesh net. The sleeves are three-quarter length and end in a ruffle. They fit comfortably on my arm, so those with thin arms might find this a bit loose if they are looking for a clingy garment. The front of each shoulder has black lace over the mesh. It is a beautiful accent and matches up with the lace on the teddy. One thing I was surprised by was how warm the material is. It is a semi sheer mesh, but I will often throw on the shrug if I am chilly at home; I even fell asleep wearing it last night!

I love it so much I would like to wear it with a tank top and wear it in public. However, the little ruffles that are so cute on the sleeves really identify it as a piece of lingerie. But I will work finding a way to wear it more.

Stockings

The black stockings are sturdy. The material feels pretty cheap, but they seem very unlikely to run. I haven't worn them a lot, so I can't give a field report. One thing I can report on is that they are too short for my legs. They come up over my knee but not enough to comfortably hook into a garter belt or the built in garters of the teddy. I'm 5'8" so a littler taller than average, plus I lean toward plus size hosiery. These stockings are one size fits most thigh highs, and I am not "most."

Teddy

The cut of this piece is gorgeous. It works great with my C cup breasts, but may not work for bustier girls as there is no cup support offered. However, if you can manage without, the cut looks amazing. There is a deep plunging V-neck which dips below the belly button which is lined with lace over the mesh material of the garment. There are two ties at the top of the V which tie as a halter top. it looks great with or without the shrug that is included.

around the legs are ruffles which match the ruffles on the sleeves, as well as garters sewn onto the teddy. I really wish the garters are removable. This is one of two issues that cause me to take away a star in my rating. Also when wearing stockings, it pulls at the point where the garters connect, causing an inverted scalloped edge around the leg.

The other issue is that it is a little to short. I really had to stretch it to get the V-neck to form the appropriate cleavage. I always end up with a wedgie when I put this on.

The material is much more opaque than I thought it would be. The Lace overlaying the mesh covers even more. It therefore covers the areola completely, which I like. Part of the reason I like lingerie, is it creates excitement. If you can see everything already, there is nothing to unwrap and it is less exciting.

Overall I still love it, even with the two little issues it has. while both the stockings and the garment itself are made for a shorter person, and extra-large 5'8" individual can still enjoy this piece.
