Vintage hi-waist set with hose - bra and panty set discontinued by Escante - review by WhoopieDoo

I fell in love with this set on sight. I'm not sure why it took me so long to get it. Perhaps because it has a lot more class than what I usually go for....I guess since I had finally decided to get the overtly trashy animal print halter dress, I needed to get something like this to balance it out.....



This set came on a hanger inside of a plastic sheath.

Included in this set: A bra, A (very) high-rise panty with attached garters, and a cheap pair of nylon stockings in a baggy and attached to the panties.

The bra tag reads: Body: 90% Polyester 10% Elastane (Spandex), Lace: 92% Nylon 8% Elastane. Hand wash cold water, wash separately, use only non chlorine bleach when needed, do not wring or twist, line dry, iron low temperature if necessary

The bra laid flat. Weirdly, my favorite thing about this bra is its soft, super-wide straps. Not that the rest of it isn't great. The underwire doesn't bother me at all, the material is soft and stretchy, the back closes with three hooks (which just seems to make the bra feel more....substantial). It fits me better than 90% of the bras that are actually labeled as my size that I try on when I go shopping for bras. It actually provides some support (though don't expect any miracles if you need some serious boost), there are no seams that make your boobs transform into disturbing, pointy entities.



The garter panty, laid flat. The garters are non-detachable. The garter straps, to my delight, are even wider than the bra straps. (I'm a big person. Big straps suit me.) Sadly, I have found it to be difficult to completely close the fasteners, though I haven't had any problems with them coming undone while wearing them halfway fastened. I'm not sure if the other people who have reviewed this item have had this issue.

The stockings are....less than stellar. I had this going on after wearing them for only about thirty minutes. Also, I ran them putting them on. This happened with the other Escante stockings I got, as well (fetish honeycomb bustier set).....I assure you I don't have Wolverine put on my stockings for me. They're very easy to run. The bands at the top fit well on my 25" thighs, though, for those who care to know.

Sizing Information: Eden has a size chart for Escante, but the waist and hip measurements are incorrect for the plus sizes. They are all ten inches too large. SO, according to what the size chart is SUPPOSED to say, 1X should fit the following:

Size: 16-18
Cup: D
Bust: 40-44
Waist: 34-38
Hips: 40-44
Weight: 175-200

Me:

Size: 16
Cup: C
Bust: 42
Waist: 32
Hips: 42
Weight: 180



This sizing seems pretty much right on (when you correct the obviously wrong size chart).
This does fit my C-cups very well, which are smaller than the D guideline, but my large ribcage helps compensate for my smaller breasts, so the overall bust measurement seems like it should be accurate. Folks with C or D cups with a bust measurement of 40 to 44 inches (measurement around the fullest part of the bust while wearing a bra) should fit this bra!
As I predicted using the size chart, the waist is a little too big for me. I can fix it, but I'm sure most people don't buy clothes to alter them. I agree with the 34 to 38 inch waist guideline.
The hips fit perfectly, as they should. I fit smack in the middle of the hip guideline.

As far as height goes, I feel that those on the shorter side (under 5'5" maybe?) might find the panty TOO high-rise. It's hard for me too say.

I really feel like this would fit me perfectly if my waist were two inches bigger (though I'm not about to go stuff a bunch of hamburgers in my face to make that happen). I'm not even going to redo the above size chart. Just throw a "C" in there beside "D" and you got what I would recommend.

I realize that my lack of ass makes this look like some weird pic where I smacked a frontal view of the lower half of my body onto a back view of my upper half, but I assure you that's not the case.

I really like the amount of coverage these panties provide.
The leg holes worried me when I was first putting these on. I though they were going to cut into the tops of my legs, but they didn't. The tops of my legs are 26 inches around. I would venture to say that legs 28 inches in circumference would fit comfortably.

Yes, this picture has weird lighting, but I find it difficult to get pics of black clothing without them looking like indeterminable, vague masses.



The only complaint I have about the bra (and it is a minor, MINOR complaint) is that a little bit of the lace folds over (on both sides...at least it's symmetrical). If I could find my iron, I could possibly fix it.....
