High Rise G-String

This thong would be a good fit for someone who's around a size 0/2 and likes the side straps of their thongs to sit high on the hip bones or waist. Unfortunately for everybody else, all you'll get to enjoy is feeling how soft the lace is since this item runs very small and has some slightly awkward dimensions.

What's in the box?

You'll actually receive your thong in something that resembles a Ziploc bag. It's got a pretty design on it, the size, and when I went to open it one half of the part above the resealable line came off so I had to slip a fingernail in to get it started instead.

What's the overall design like?

It doesn't look like an item you'd have spent a lot of money on, but it doesn't feel like it's going to fall right apart either. It's a bright pink color, featuring your more traditional 'T' design in the back. The front triangle is edged with the same elastic band that goes all the way around and has a very soft feel to it. The scalloped edge along the top lends a nice flair to the overall appearance, and the tag (that you can easily cut off if you want to) is located on the inside top of the lace triangle.

Give me some details? How does it fit? How does it compare to the sizing chart?

This is an OS/XL, which to Charm Wear means that I should fall into a size 4-14, with waist measurements of 29-36" and somewhere between 39 1/2-44 1/2" around my hips. I do wear a size 2/4 depending on the brand. My waist just above my belly button measures 26 1/2" around, around the widest part of my hips clocks in at just under 38", and where this thong is supposed to sit right at my hip bones comes in at 34".

The measurements I took of the thong were taken with it laid flat so you can compare it to a pair of your existing underwear. The waistband measures 13" across and stretches up to 22", although at that point it probably won't be comfortable anymore. The triangle measures about 5" across and 4 1/2" tall, and the band that nestles into your crack runs about 15 1/2" from the top of the triangle in the front to where it meets the band in the back.

When I first put it on, everything sits too high. The bottom of the triangle sits right at the top of my lips, the sides show a lot of skin and hair if I haven't shaved that day, the sides visually cut into my hips, and the bottom elastic band sits squarely between my vagina lips. If I shift it down to where the picture says it should be and where it feels more comfortable I do get more coverage over the general mons area and the bottom of the triangle sits just past my vagina and about where most thongs of this make usually sit. Unfortunately the side straps still cut into my skin and unless I bring the side straps up and over my waist (a very popular look in the 90's even if it isn't as popular now), now I have 2" of strap that no longer nestles into my crack but instead buckles out. Until I do anything that doesn't keep my butt cheeks squarely together. Now everything shifts back up and out of place again. This item appears to run very small, and would probably look best on someone who wears closer to a size 0/2 and likes their waistband above their hipbones.

How would you care for this item?

The tag does give some care instructions, along with telling you that this item is 88% nylon and 12% spandex. Most items like this do well being hand washed and air dried before being tossed into a drawer with the rest of your lingerie or undergarments.
Experience
This is another difficult one to try and rate. Purely based on quality of material it would net a little higher than 3 stars. It's adequate, but nothing overly special one way or the other. It'll probably last you a while before it falls apart, but it won't be in your collection forever.

On the other hand, without altering the design yourself, there's not really a good way to wear it how it's supposed to look but also be comfortable. And that's factoring in whether or not it will fit you comfortably or in an appealing way, because it does run so small that most people in the recommended size range aren't going to fit into it properly. If it did fit you properly, it would probably be worth the money even at full price. Unfortunately, quality means almost nothing if it runs off enough that a lot of people who are "in the right range" won't be able to use it, so for those reasons I settled on 2 stars.

I've tried wearing this quite a few times, but never keep it on more than a few minutes at a time. I think my husband has seen me in them maybe twice. On the plus side he likes the design. On the down side he also thinks it's hilarious to pull the straps up the sides like an early 90's bathing suit, which is something I really really hate. I do like the overall feel of the lace and don't mind the design in general, but it just will not sit right on me for more than a few minutes at a time no matter what I do.

I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one having sizing issues! The quality was there and I liked the lace, but my goodness it means nothing if I don't even want to wear them, haha.
