Romance bra and garter skirt set - bra and panty set discontinued by Seven 'til Midnight - review by ~LaUr3n~

I couldn't resist the playfully flirty color combination, incredibly affordable price, and seemingly comfortable fit. All of the previous delivered as I hoped. However, I did not anticipate it looking "kidish". I can't help but be reminded of a training bra (although, I never did wear one of those) with the cut and design of the top. My boyfriend disagrees and wants me to keep this set, but I might be too creeped out by it to do so. I don't know, maybe it is just me?

This set is from Seven 'til Midnight. It's my first experience with the company for a full set of lingerie, and I'm actually surprised with how well the experience turned out. I'd compare this company to Escante by my experience so far. It comes with an unpadded crop top that also doesn't have underwire. The bottom is a mini skirt with detachable garters. There is also a matching g-string. The set is available in SM or ML.

*Material: Soft, Stretchy, Mesh



This set is made of 92% polyester and 8% spandex exclusive of the trim which is the ribbons and lace. The majority of the material is a soft, thin, and stretchy white mesh. It's see through and light, very comfortable to wear. The lace is not scratchy either. The material shows everything through, tattoos, nipples etc. The material accommodates very well but will pull if it is too small.

*Design/craftsmanship:

All measurements are for the M/L.

The top is like a crop top. It strongly reminds me of training bras, unfortunately. It has thick straps like a wife beater tank top. There is no additional support, padding, or underwire. The white shell has a blue mesh trim that is the only abrasive part of the fabric. Unstretched the bottom is 12 1/2" across and from the center to the center of the dip in the neck line it is 4" tall. The band is 3" thick on the sides and 2" in the very center of the back where it dips a lot. All of the sides are trimmed with thin elastic. It likely won't cut in on most people, especially those appropriately in the size range. There is a small blue bow in between the breasts.

The bottom is a ruffled matching skirt. The very top has a thin ace trim. Below that is a panel of blue mesh. This area of the skirt is rectangular in shape and is about 3 1/2" long. There is elastic at the top and bottom of this section. If it is too tight on you, this area will not shape and may cause an un-smooth look. Attached to the bottom of the blue section is the white ruffled area. It's so cute and flowy! The very bottom is finished with a matching blue seam. The skirt is a total of 8 1/2" long. When worn on my hips, it covers me in the front but shows a good amount of my ass in the back. The front has two small blue bows above where the front garters attach on the inside of the skirt. There are two garters in the back as well, but no bows. The garters are all removable. Because they are not connected in more than one place, they can get tangled while putting the skirt on and can sometimes not lay correctly, but that's what you get in such a reasonably priced piece. The garters are adjustable like a bra and have plastic fasteners. To cover the fasteners are blue satin bows.

The matching thong is all white mesh with no panty liner. It's a t-string back and is as much butt floss as it could possibly get. The top is 6" across which is pretty typical.

[*Cleaning/packaging:] Hand wash, Bag

This set cam on a plastic hanger and was placed in a thin plastic bag. To wash you can hand wash it in cold water and line dry. This type of material is cheap and doesn't do well n a dryer. It also really doesn't need anything more than hand washing.

*Sizing: Runs small for chart, but decent for ML in general

I got the M/L. Compared to other companies it isn't too far off, but the top is bigger than the bottoms. It's small for its chart, so in general I'd say it runs a little small because of the bottoms. According to their size chart a M/L should fit a dress size 8-14, cup C-D, band 36-38", 28-30" waist, and 38-40" hip. The fit seems to be for an upside down triangle because the top is larger than the bottom. I'm about ~145 pounds at the time of this review. At the time of this review I am 145 pounds, size 8 in most jeans, 8/9 in dresses, 36 D or DD (on occasion) bra, 34.5" under bust, ~41" bust, 39" hip, and 30 1/2" waist.

The to fits great. It's clear it could fit a full DD bust, but I think any larger might fall out the bottom since there is no support. The band is comfortable and can fit much larger too. It doesn't cut in anywhere. The skirt would be ideal for someone maybe an inch smaller than me (in their hip size), but it doesn't affect the wear on me. It just creates a little pull line in the front (probably nothing to most, but I like things to look as perfect as possible, lay flat etc.). It will fit larger too, but will dig in.

Dress size: 6-10
Cup: C-DD
Bust: Up to about 43", certainly more than the given measurement.
Band: 36-40"
Waist: Don't need to worry about this
Hips: 35-38"

Sadly this does not come with stockings, so here is a suggestion of a pair to wear.


They come in white or baby blue. Both could work.

Since this set has a lot of frills going on, I'd go with a simpler heel.

For the price, this is great! The bottoms can be a little annoying because of the way the garters are attached, but it's no big deal. I don't like the set's look as much as I thought which is the main reason for me tacking it down some stars. The bottom doesn't have the same sizing as the top. This is the other main reason.

I'm glad my partner liked this set, but I just don't feel as awesome as I'd like in it. It'll probably fall to the bottom of my chests of lingerie and will only be pulled out once or twice more before I decide to part with it?
