Garter bustier set - bustier discontinued by Fantasy Lingerie - review by NurseKitty

My husband loves white lingerie, no it's not that innocence thing, he really loves the way white looks on a girl with tan skin and dark hair. So when I noticed this had not been reviewed yet I decided to take it upon myself to try this set out.

This is the Garter Bustier Set by Fantasy Lingerie. I ordered it in a size medium as it was the closest match to my measurements. It came on a hanger with a matching g-string that is seen on the model. The bustier has a full under wire cup and some light plastic boning down the front only. The boning is very flexible so don't expect this to have any figure shaping properties.


This is a close up of the embroidery detail that goes around the cup of the piece. It stands out much more against the bustier than the promo pictures let on and is a very pretty design that makes me think of leaves.
The first thing that I noticed is that the material of this piece is very thin and much more sheer than the picture on EF lets on. I really though it would be more of an opaque material, but it is very sheer material. The material itself is thin but very soft and has a good stretch to it; it almost reminds me of a very fine mesh or netting, very delicate looking.


The back closure is a standard hook and eye closure. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the back had two sets of eyes so that the bustier is a little bit adjustable for sizing.


As you can see in this shot the material is QUITE sheer and leaves very little to the imagination. The thin material really hugs the body nicely though and lies very smooth against the skin. I love the way the embroidery sits just under the bust and how it really pops against the very sheer white. The scrolling design is very elegant and simple.


To help you get an idea of how this piece fits I took my own measurements, they are:
-Bust 36 1/2" (maybe closer to 37)
-Waist 32"
-Hips 38
You can see that the bustier rides right at the hips and then lengthens a little to where the garter straps are. The cups were a very nice surprise for me, I have pretty wide breasts and lingerie often comes with very narrow fitting cups that always edge to the smaller end of the fit and leave me feeling like my boobs are being squished. These cups fit very generously and the under-wire fit perfectly under my breasts. The cups do not compress or minimize much nor do they give you a ton of support.
I have a couple of inches on the waist extra then what the fit chart calls for, I'm 32" the fit chart says 28 1/2 to 30 1/2 but due to the stretchy nature of the material it fits very comfortably and will still fit well even if I lose a couple inches. When I took these pictures I wore the bustier on the smaller set of closure so I could let it out about a half inch by using the "larger" size on the closure, but the smaller size fit very comfortably and did not pinch or bite. The boning is very comfortable and flexible, I think it is really there to give the garment a touch of structure.


The garter belts are simple pieces of white elastic that can be adjusted for the length of your stockings. The actual garter "hooks" are a plastic frame with a soft silicone button which I like a lot because the silicone is soft and won't eat the lace tops of your stockings.


Sorry I don't have much to say about the G-String but it pretty much is the same as you see it in the EF pictures. I found that it fits quite comfortably and the material is still just a sheer as the rest of the outfit.

Last thing, the washing instructions are as follows:
Machine wash with like colors on gentle, tumble dry on low and remove immediately. Do not twist or wring.
Due to the delicate nature of the material I would also suggest putting the garment into a lingerie wash bag and use a very mild detergent like Woolite or something formulated for delicate fabrics.

Overall I am very happy with this bustier and garter set. It is very comfortable and extremely flattering to all shapes. I was very excited to have a piece of lingerie that had under-wires fit as intended. The soft stretchy material is a pleasure to wear and is decently tough as I have not found any snags or pulls in it yet. Oh yes and my hubby absolutely loves it! He keeps saying "I told you so! White looks HOT on you" So for the record, he was right, this is a very sexy piece of lingerie and doesn't look all innocent and bridal at all!

One word of caution on fit is that if you are kind of in between sizes on the size chart go with the smaller size because this piece has so much give and the adjustable back.

I'm still loving this bustier, but be warned that the mesh is delicate and prone to snagging! This is definitely not the piece to be wearing with rougher play if you want it to survive!
