Burlesque balconette babydoll - babydoll and panty set by DreamGirl - review by Do emu

DreamGirl has created this gorgeous shelf bra/babydoll. The bra portion is fuchsia/hot pink (depending on the lighting) and covered with lace. The babydoll portion is see-through and very stretchy. The thong this comes with is the same pattern as the babydoll and has the very simple cut that comes with most combination products.

Packaging
Like the DreamGirl pieces I've received in the past, this came on a hanger with a plastic cover protecting it.


Use/Wear
This would be a great addition for the bedroom if it fits you properly. Due to breast exposure (without pasties), it is not intended to be worn in public. Personally, it fit me strangely - the sides of the bra portion cut into my skin, and it wasn't as sturdy as my bras. The back's keyhole looks larger than it should be, which took away from the look of the piece, in my opinion.

I didn't use the pasties yet, but you would simply peel and stick them onto your areolae. I've heard that if you wanted to reuse pasties, you can use eyelash glue, as it wouldn't be as harsh on your skin as other types of glue. Definitely don't use Super Glue to reattach them, please!

Sizing

According to DreamGirl's size chart, I should be a large, which is what I ordered. As a 34D, my cup size is too large for a medium, even though my bust is a medium, which explains why I didn't feel it was enough to support me - can you even imagine how much of a pain in the ass it is to buy bras for myself? Needless to say, this piece is meant to have the breasts exposed, but I still expected better fitting with the underwire. The design turned my breasts into a very unnatural shape when I was not holding my breasts up - very unlike the breast shape of the model's (go figure).

Material & Care
This burlesque babydoll (and thong) is made of polyester. The directions on the tag say to hand wash this in cold water and line dry.

I included pictures of some of the details of the product. The pasties are still in the plastic, as I do not intend to use them yet (but will post a follow-up review when I do wear them).

My exact words while wearing this were "Take a picture. Hurry...so I can take this thing off!" I ended up absolutely hating it. I threw it on my couch and immediately put my bra back on. It was simply uncomfortable to wear, and it's going to be left out of my suitcase for my international move coming up soon.

I was told, though, that it looked great on me, and it was a wonderful way to wake up my special someone.

I still stand by what I said in my original review. Even with the large size I ordered, my breasts are just too big for this. I know it's supposed to be a shelf bra style, but it doesn't work for me. My partner really loves the back of this, though, and said that's the best part. With the main feature of this being the shelf bra, though, I don't think it's a good fit for me at all.

The pasties are cute and bring a lot to the outfit. This is the first set of pasties I've tried on, so I have nothing to compare them to. I will say that the edges are cut rather roughly and the material started fraying as soon as I removed the adhesive cover. If a reasonable amount of pressure is applied to them while they are attached, they invert in shape from convex to concave, but they still remain attached. If anything, I like the pasties more than the babydoll.
