It Ain't Easy Being Green...Teddy

The halter top teddy left me feeling green because of the weird sizing. This is a one-size fits all but if you have larger breasts and a flat tummy, it causes the middle panel to not lie flat, which is not very flattering. It is well made and on the right woman, would look sexy. My boyfriend still loved this and I am glad I bought it because it is so unique.

extremely useful review
I have a huge collection of lingerie and I always aim to get unique pieces. I hate teddies, but this one caught my eye, especially since it isn't a traditional 80's looking one. It was super hot, but really only works on a select body type which ironically is less perfect that you think. I actually recommend this to the average height woman (~5'2"-5'5") with size large B-C breasts, and a little belly pudge she wants to hide without covering up.

*Contents/overview:

This piece from Coquette is advertised as a teddy, but really it isn't what you would normally think of. A lot of teddies have ridiculously high cut thighs that looks like outfits from 80's Firm exercise videos. This one fits on the hips and is more like a one-piece bikini style bra attached to mini-skirt panty.

*Material:

Made of 82% Nylon and 18% spandex, this is semi-stretchy. The green parts of the material are solid and feel silky, while the black parts are stretchier mesh.

*Design/craftsmanship:

Alrighty, how shall I explain? The top is like a string bikini with small triangle cups. There are two neon green bows at the top of each cup and one in the middle with a tacky silver lip charm. The strings that tie around the neck and back are very stretchy and strong. There is then a 9" long panel that goes down the stomach and attaches to the bottoms. This panel has mesh ruffles with green trim. The bottoms are a mini-skirt panty with lots of mesh ruffles and a mesh crotch. The crotch has no liner and the back is a t-string. In the back where the ruffles meet there is another small green bow.

The cool thing about this is that the lining and seems are complete inside and out so this is actually reversible. If you wear it reversed, the lime green color is shown instead of the mesh covering it. This gets rid of the bows and dumb charm. The entire thing feels really well made. I found no obvious stitch mess ups or weak spots.

*Cleaning/care/storage:

The tag says to hand wash, but I actually put this in the washer with no problem. I put it in the washer by itself and in a pillow case so that the strings would not get caught around the spinner. You can drip dry or dry on tumble dry low delicates for about 15-20 minutes. I store mine in the plastic bag it came in, but since it is one piece, you can just throw it in a drawer.
Experience
*Sizing:

It comes in a one size fits most, which is much better than cheaper products from other companies, but still has some flaws. I prefer the actual sized products from Coquette, but this wasn't HORRIBLE.

The measurements for the one size are as follows: It says that it will fit a dress size 4-14, B cup, band size 34-40", waist of 26-32", and hips of 36-42".
Some of this is more true than others.

The cups on the top are small. Saying that this fits size B is accurate, but I think they will fit C just fine too. They will not flatter women with small breasts though.I wear a 34D or 36 C and they didn't cover all of me. I poked out the bottom. No complains from my boyfriend though!

Having smaller breasts will make the center panel lie flatter against you, if you have a flat stomach (I'm a crunch Nazi), this might bother you that it doesn't. It did not lie against my stomach. There was a good few inches between my stomach and the fabric. This is why I think this is great for women with a little extra padding in that area. It covers and distracts.

Other than the panel not lying flat, I didn't like how short it is. I needed an extra inch or two for this to work on my 5'6" frame. This caused the already tiny crotch portion to stretch even more and become even smaller. The hip portion of this was pretty good for a one-size although does not reflect the size chart. I have size 38" hips and any bigger would make this cut in.

*My Re-done Sizing Chart:

Dress size: 4-10 (for real!)
B-C Cup
32-40" Bust
34-38" Hip

*Conclusion:

I'm giving this 3 stars because it fits a specific body type much better than most. The construction is great and I love that I can reverse it, but the fit doesn't flatter my body type as well as I would like it to.
Follow-up commentary
The Halter-top teddy is a piece that doesn't fit me as best I would like, but because of how unique it is, I will probably hold onto it as long as I can. The fabric has held up and none of the piece has stretched or frayed. It can be thrown in the washer machine by itself on the low cycle, but I hang dry this instead of putting it in the dryer. I want to try a similar style also by Coquette, and hope that one will fit a bit better. I still recommend this outfit to those in my re-sizing chart. The quality is good and it is cute as hell!

Not gonna work for the person I thought of seeing this. Sad these one-sze-fits-all actually does not fits all... well, obviously, I guess it just lowers the productions costs? Thanks for this honest review
