Lace and mesh babydoll with g-string - babydoll and panty set by Coquette - review by SMichelle

What is it about pink and black that looks so good together?! The excellent color combination, the beautiful shape of the piece, and the gorgeous lace had me lusting after this piece for months. When I saw all of the positive reviews, I knew that I could not resist. The question is...did this piece live up to my expectations? I'm sad to report that this piece was a let down.

What's Included:
This is a two piece set. It consists of the black and pink babydoll, and a matching g-string. A plastic hanger is also included for convenience.

Material and Care:
This set is made out of 82% Nylon and 18% Spandex.

The material is not at all itchy, and is very comfortable against my skin.

The bust portion of the babydoll is solid, so you will have some coverage there. The lower half the baby doll is made out of two layers of mesh. The fact that the mesh is layered makes it so that the lower half isn't transparent at all.

There is a lot of stretch to this piece. In fact, the only area of the babydoll that does not stretch is the bust area, and the ribbon used to tie.

Speaking of the ribbon, I'm sorry to say that it feels very cheap. It's also fairly slippery, making it difficult to tie securely.

The included g-string is made out of the same material. It is also very stretchy, and the material is comfortable against the skin.

Sizing:
Coquette has made this piece available in five sizes; small, medium, large, extra large, and 1x/2x. I ended up purchasing a medium.

According to the size chart, a medium should fit someone with the following measurements:
Cup Size: B
Bust: 36-38"
Waist: 26-30"
Hips: 38-40"

By looking at the photograph, I could tell that waist and hip size would be meaningless. I mean, this piece does flow outward. On my 40" hips, and 32" waist, this piece was very comfortable. It wasn't too tight at all.

The cup size however... I was concerned about that. You see, I typically wear a large C, or small D cup. Usually anything made for a B is way too small for me, but I just had a feeling that this piece would fit large, and it looks like I was right! My breasts are swimming in the cups of this babydoll, despite the fact that the size chart says it's too small. Honestly, I could've probably gotten a small and sit fit comfortably.

As for the g-string? It's your typical throwaway g-string. It says that it's supposed to be a medium, however it does not fit like a medium. I really believe that the lingerie makers just decide to throw these cheap thongs in at the last minute, giving no thought to sizing, as they never seem to fit.

To clean this set, it is recommended that you hand wash it in cold water, and then hang it to dry. I wouldn't risk putting this piece through the washing machine (even on the delicate cycle); the quality itself is already questionable, and I really feel that the washing machine would just tear this piece apart. I also would recommend that you avoid the dryer with this babydoll.

Design:
The design of this piece is fairly simple.

It is a halter neck, with ribbons for ties.

The bust portion of the babydoll does not have underwire, though the cups are shaped, and lightly lined. Still, the bust portion doesn't offer a lot of support. Any support that you do get from this babydoll is going to come from the halter neck.

The bust has beautiful pink lacing on it, as well as under it. There is also a pink ribbon, and yes, a huge pink bow, right on the center of the top of the babydoll. The bow is not removable, but you should be able to remove it with a seam ripper (if you want to).

The back of the babydoll has the type of hook/eyelets that you would find on a bra. There are three rows of eyelets, so you can set this piece however it feels comfortable to you. Personally, even the last set of hooks was too big for me. Below the hook/eyelet band, there is a peekaboo hole where your lover (and anyone else) will be able to see a portion of your back.

The lower half of the babydoll is made out of two layers of black mesh. One layer is shorter than the other, but not by much. The lower portion of the babydoll is seamed with pink thread that perfectly matches the lace.

The matching g-string has the same pink lace on it.
You should also know that the g-string has no pantyliner.

Packaging:
The packaging for this piece was simple. It arrived on a hanger, with a clear plastic bag around it. There was a hang tag attached to the babydoll.

Quality:
This piece is low quality. I have worn it once for about 15 minutes, and tried it on about 4 times. In that time, the piece is already seriously falling apart. The thong has a lot of fraying on the outside. There are loose threads everywhere on the babydoll. And the worst part? The ribbon that's supposed to be the halter neck tie? Well... it has nearly detached itself from the babydoll. Where the ribbon has come loose, it has frayed greatly. For $39.99, I expected better than this low quality garment.

That said, it is possible that I just got a bad piece, as most of the other reviews are very positive.

The straps of this piece have now completely fallen off, and it's barely even been worn! It is well past the refund period for me, so I'm going to try and salvage it, but... really, the quality is appalling!
