Marquis de pink teddy - teddy discontinued by Fantasy Lingerie - review by Illusional

So I'm sure you guys are thrilled about the new lingerie. Eden is very wonderful at listening to our wants and here's some brand spankin' new stuff. I received some lingerie today from a company called Fantasy Lingerie. They have a quiet a few pieces available here on Eden, but most of their items were catered towards those more slender lovelies out there. Lo and behold, they have answered our call and brought out some sexy tantalizing pieces in 1x, 2x and 3x.

The Marquis de pink teddy arrived wrapped in gorgeous pink paper and nothing else. Marquis de pink teddy is a one piece teddy, it sort of reminds me of a one piece bathing suit. Like one of those moonkinis, it has the sides wide open and exposed. It's a black and hot pink litle number with little ruffles on the hip line for that flirty feminine feel to it. I have to say, that model does make it look good.

I went over to their size chart and since I hadn't ordered from them before, I picked a size 2x. If it was too big, I'd simply return it.
So, their sizing chart for 2x runs as such:
2x:
Size: 20-22
Bust: 47-51 inches
Waist: 37½ - 40½ inches
Hips: 49½ - 51½ inches
I kinda like how there are half inches, it's really specific with them which should make for a better fit for a wider variety of customers.

My measurements are:
Size: 18
Cup size: D
Bust: 48 inches
Waist: 44 inches
Hip: 56 inches
Height: 5'10
Length of torso: 22 inches

I do normally get 1x, but because I was unsure I opted for a 2x. So, as you can see I almost fit into all of their slots, except the waist. I'm 4 inches over, so I definitely put that mesh and nylon to the test.


First off, I applaud the direction of the stripes. If there's one thing my mother told me over and over again is "No horizontal stripes" and ain't it the truth! However, I love the vertical striping going up and down the tummy. I actually felt I looked halfway cute. Such a delusional moment. I love the angular stripes going up and down on the breast part, very cute. As I said before, this little teddy is cute and adorable.


So, I'm gonna be honest. The fit wasn't anything at all like I had fantasized it would be. I'm aware that I ordered a size up than normal but based on my measurements I should've still been pretty good. I felt kind of frumpy. Even with the strings tightly adjusted and the back clasps on the 3rd setting, my boobs had no umph. They looked deflated and baggy. At 24, that isn't anything I want to see. I imagine I could put a nice strapless bra underneath but that would destroy the purpose of the peek-a-boo open ties on the chest. Also, the peek-a-boo isn't really a peek for my girls. I'm only a 40D and the weight of my girls against those little ties made it way more than a peek. Not that I mind, I'm a bit of an exhibitionist but with those little ties straining against my chest, it didn't seem so seductive. The ties were very short to me, they were 6.5 inches and they just seemed itty bitty to me.

It appears like it has a nice amount of give, or at least some. Nylon and Mesh are usually stretchy materials so I'm sure this could fit a variety of sizes.


I don't know if you guys can tell, but the straps are digging into my skin. I tightened it as much as possible and my breasts just (let's be honest) don't look too fabulous. I consider myself to have pretty full breasts and I don't know who this would suit better. This is simply too high cut for my body, it was like somebody gave me an intense wedgie. You can't even see the ruffles between these my cheeks, that's how ridiculous it was and it scratched against my outer lips and simply was uncomfortable. I spent a lot of my time yanking it out. (Mmm, flossing) Also, what you cannot see in the model's picture are side laces. When I put it on, I noticed on each hip there were strings hanging to the floor, looped on the sides. Even in the model's picture I cannot see them so I just looped them into ties and went about my merry way.

I'm not completely bashing the lingerie here. I have definitely considered the thought that since I am so tall, that maybe it was meant to fit a certain length of torso perhaps? The length of my torso plus the fact that my waist was 4 inches too wide could've made it even more restricting and uncomfortable. I'm at a standstill on what to do with this product. I believe this is is a gorgeously made product. It had lots of give, felt smooth on my body and was adorable. The color is exactly how it is on the picture, bright and perky. I adore it, I just wish it wasn't so high-cut in all those folds and crevices I aim to get rid of. Also, I wish the cups actually kept my breasts in place, they seemed to be moving about all over the place, except filling the cups like they should. The underwire didn't do a damned thing for me. I would really love to to give this piece more stars, it's gorgeously made. However, for this plus sized Amazon, there wasn't much justice. I think if you're about 5'8 or shorter, being out of the measurements won't affect it too badly. The total length of my teddy stretched out was 34 inches, my torso is 22 inches. That doesn't give much room for the wide waist and the big hips. So, I think if you're my height you might want to just keep from this one. Honestly, for my plus sized girlies: I don't think this one is for us. With my sides out, I felt heavier and this super high-cut exposed all the flab and folds of my thighs I didn't want to. It is a gorgeous piece though, and hopefully your experience is much better than mine!



With most delicates, they recommend lightly hand-washing it and letting it airdry. I agree and treat most of my lingerie delicately. I don't really get many stains on my lingerie, this is too delicate with too many strings to just toss in the washer to me.

I believe I was probably correct on my sizing assumption. I gave this to a friend who has similar measurements with a smaller waist and she is only 5'6. It looked gorgeous on her, very sexy. She can have it, I am a little saddened but hey her boyfriend's gonna hug me next time I see him!
