Mesh Mini Dress (OS) Review

This red mini dress doesn't leave much to the imagination with its sheer nature and cut outs. While it will reveal every secret you've got, this dress still covers plenty for me. I feel comfortable and sexy in this piece, even though every inch of me may be on display.

Unfortunately, however, this piece isn't the greatest of quality, but if you can get it on sale? It's a great buy.

extremely useful review
This mesh mini dress was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting to love it, but I do! It's got some flaws quality wise, but in general? This is a great item!

Basics:
The red mesh mini dress is made by Coquette. The dress does not come with an included thong.

Material & Care:
This mini dress is made out of 82% Nylon and 18% Spandex.

Taking into account the amount of spandex found in this dress, it's no surprise that this is an extremely stretchy piece. I don't feel that it'll stretch to fit those on the upper end of plus size, but it should definitely stretch to fit larger than the size chart.

As the name implies, this dress is made out of mesh. Being mesh, it's very sheer -- your nipples (and everything else) will show through the material. In case you haven't guessed, this isn't a dress that you're going to want to wear out of the bedroom.

The mesh on this dress isn't as soft as some other mesh items that I've felt. It's not exactly rough either, though. Most importantly, the mesh isn't itchy; it feels very soft against my skin. That being said, the mesh also feels very cheap. I worry that it'll snag easily, though that hasn't happened yet.

Next we have the little heart charm and the rhinestones that decorate that heart. I'm not sure what exactly the heart is made out of, but it seems to be some sort of metal. I'll be honest, the metal and the rhinestones look cheap up close. I also worry that the rhinestones are going to fall off with just a few washing's.

Speaking of washing, to wash this item it's best to hand wash it and then allow it to line dry. Doing this will protect the delicate mesh, and the fragile heart charm.

Sizing:
The mini dress is only available in one size fits most.

According to Coquettes size chart, one size fits most should fit someone with the following measurements:

Cup size: B
Bust: 34-40"
Waist: 26-32"
Hips: 36-40"

I wear a large C/small D cup, have a 32" waist, and 40" inch hips. I was expecting my breasts to burst out of the cups on this item, but that just didn't happen. My breasts fit in nicely.. in fact, all of me fit in nicely! Such a pleasant surprise indeed! While my breasts fit, I don't have as much coverage as the model does. My cleavage, however, looks amazing.

That being said, I don't believe that this will fit anyone with larger breasts than me. That doesn't mean you can't wear this, just.. be prepared to be popping out. Let's be honest, if you're wearing this in the bedroom (as you probably are, unless you're extremely daring), popping out isn't really a big deal. In fact, your partner might find it sexy (I know mine would).

The hip portion of this set is stretch, and I do believe that it'll stretch a few inches larger than the size chart recommends.

As for the waist measurements? Due to the fit of this set, it's completely irrelevant.
Experience
Design:
Getting this on can be a bit complex due to the ties. You see, this dress ties in two places: the halter neck, and the 'bra band'. I find it's easiest to step into the skirt, tie the halter neck, and then tie the band. If I tie the band first, the halter neck just doesn't seem to tie properly. That might just be my poor lingerie tying skills, though.

While we're on the subject of the ties, I think that the design there is great even though it can make the piece difficult to put on. The reason I love the ties so much is simple; I adore the fact that my boyfriend can simply give the ties a tug in order to reveal my breasts.

The skirt on this piece is very short, as it's meant to be a mini. I am able to pull it down so that it covers my bum, but I find it sexier to let the bottom of my butt peak out.

On the front center of this dress there is a sweet little peekaboo hole. I worried that this hole would be unflattering to my curvaceous shape, but it actually looks very sexy. The sides, and back, of this piece are also open.

Now.. one of the most important parts: the bust! This piece has no underwire, and no padding, yet somehow it still managed to offer me some support. Most of the support does come from the halter neck tie, but this one just doesn't bother me like most halter necks do. I can't quite figure out why that is, as there's nothing that makes this halter neck tie special as far as the eye can see.

Last but not least, there is a little heart charm that sits between each "cup". The heart charm is securely attached, so you won't be able to remove it. Honestly, you won't want to remove it as the charm seems to cover up a hideous seam. The heart charm isn't all that great in itself, but it's better than the seam that it hides.

Packaging:
This was packaged in a card board case that featured photographs of the model. The information on the packaging was minimal at best, but that's okay as I didn't require a lot of information for this specific item.

In my opinion, the packaging is not suitable for storage. I mean, you could if you wanted, but it's much easier to just store the "mini dress" in your lingerie drawer.

Quality:
The quality of this set isn't great. The rhinestones on the little heart look as though they'll fall out easily -- though they haven't yet. Aside from appearing like they're going to fall out, they just look rather cheap in general. My boyfriend doesn't pay much attention to detail, so he's not bothered by the cheap look of the rhinestones. I, on the other hand, am disappointed by it.

Other than that, there were numerous loose threads.

Considering the quality, I am giving this set a 3.
Follow-up commentary
This mini-dress is still a must-have in my collection. It's not an outfit that I pull out often, but it never disappoints when I decide to throw it on.
