Black cross back dress - mini dress discontinued by Espiral - review by ~LaUr3n~

When Espiral's line debuted on Eden I nearly had a heart attack. I have quite a love affair with heels and mini-dresses. Could you tell? FUCKING love them. I added a bunch of the mini-dresses to my get-it-next wishlist. I have to admit I wasn't expecting them to look anything like the model, not nearly as good. But if I do say so myself, I think amazing in this! It gave me such a confident boost. No, it gave me a confidence JOLT. Curvy girls CAN wear this dress. Got hips, an ass, generous breasts? Me too... this dress will love you. It wasn't my first choice. I really wanted the Billow Top Dress first, but sadly it was out of stock. I'm kind of glad it was. In my frenzy to get something else before it went out of stock, I chose this. I'm not sure I would have otherwise. It fits well, looks great, and is pretty true to size. It is thin and will show things. You also can't wear a bra and might be better off not wearing panties either. There is not much to hide behind. Confidence is required!

The Black Cross Back dress by Espiral is an open back mini-dress made for wearing out. It is a little see through if it is stretched. It has no built in bra, but does have a double layer for a bit more coverage. No parts of this adjust. It comes in two colors: white and black. It is available in sizes S, M, L, and XL.

*Material: Really nice



The mini-dress is made of 93% polyester and 7% spandex (elastano). It is very soft and somewhat silky to the touch. It has a little bit of shine to it in certain lighting. the material is fairly thin and can be seen through if it is stretched. For example, if I widen my legs and am in certain harsh lighting, you can see the space between my thighs. Where it is doubled, the chest for example, is not see through at all. I wear pasties regardless, but you can't see through it. It stretches nicely, returns to its original shape, and holds up well. It is very comfortable to wear and not at all itchy

*Design/craftsmanship: Great

The Cross Back Dress is a mini-dress. This means that it will end very high up on the thigh, much like a mini skirt. From the front it looks like a simple black dress with cascading cowl like neck line. It also looks like a halter from the front. The chest has a double layer of fabric which is seamless because it is only attached at the sides under the arms. The bottom has a hemline to create the "skirt" portion of the dress.



The back is quite a surprise. It's very open with an upside down tear drop shape cut out of the center. It dips very low and doesn't cut across completely straight. It has more of a racer back look. The straps twist twice and them connect to the sides of the dress. The straps also have a double layering of material.

It is nicely sewn. I didn't find any loose ends. A small tag is sewn into the side and is easy to take out if needed.

*Cleaning/care/storage: Hand wash

This comes in a reusable plastic bag and has a cardboard insert showing the model wearing the dress, the different variations of the dress color, and then other dresses offered by Espiral. I want them all! Hand wash this is cool water and let hang dry. It can be put in a lingerie bag on a short cool cycle in the washer, but I would hang dry it.

*Sizing/fit: Runs true to size

Since this is a new company to Eden, one I previously had no experience with, and this is a small dress, I chose to play it safe and get a large. It fits perfectly. This company's large is smaller than other leading company larges, but it runs true to chart.

The large says is should fit 38" bust, 29" waist, and 38" hip. I weigh ~142 pounds (size ~8); curvy but fit, with size 34/36 D breasts. My waist is about 30" and hips 38.5". For other companies, they have a specific bust and cup measurement which I've always interpreted to be cup and band. For this, I'm not exactly sure if they mean the measurement under the breasts or at the fullest area. It's hard to tell with a dress like this because band size is not the most important thing to worry about. My breasts have plenty of room and I think this would fit up to a DD without showing on the sides. I used pasties that gave my boobs a little lift, but larger than D cups might find the no-bra thing an issue. It was weird at first, but it works for me. The waist and hips fit me well too. I don't think it would be good for someone more than an inch larger than my measurements, especially in the hips. If you are 2" larger than any of my measurements, you should go with the XL. Same goes for the M, if you are 2" smaller, go for that size instead.

I'm 5'6" and this is very low on my back. If you are shorter than 5'4" you might have an issue with it showing too much ass, especially if you also wear a large. Taller gals might find this too short.


In the first picture you can see my lace thong. This is an issue sometimes because it is so low. If you can go without undies, you might want to.

*Possible accessories:

I used the Crème heart pasties to give my breasts a tiny lift and to cover my nipples just in case they got hard, which happens often.

This dress shows a lot of leg! You want to play that up by wearing as high a heel as you can manage. The heels I am wearing are Pleaser 609 which are 6". They have rhinestones in the back for a bit of bling.



*Conclusion: 5 stars ★★★★★

I am totally giving this super hot number a full 5 stars. It's very comfortable, fits what it should and is really sexy. It is a little low cut in the back making panties a difficult choice, but if you get that and the pasties right, this LITTLE black dress is a complete bombshell item.

This dress is the boldest one I have in my collection, and I cant believe how confident I feel in it. P.S. Thanks to all of you who commented and gave me even more confidence! After 10 more pounds are lost, I hope it isn't too big in any areas, but that's just an excuse to get the white in a medium!

It has held up just fine, but you need to be careful. It can be washed with anything that has hooks or rough material.
