Carried away corset - corset discontinued by DreamGirl - review by Breas

The Carried Away Corset by DreamGirl is available in sizes 32-38. I purchased the size 38 and purchased it with the intent to wear it out in public as a top under a nice cardigan. A few people were saying that they thought the lace detailing would draw attention to the stomach, but I wanted to try it anyway. The stock photo of the corset was just so darn pretty!

The corset arrived on a black plastic hanger. The outfit was surrounded by plastic to keep it from getting dirty. The plastic bag did not have any text or photos on it. The hanger is excellent to use for storing the corset in your closet when it is not being worn.

The corset came with the shoulder straps and garter straps already attached to it, though these are detachable and do not need to be worn with the piece if you prefer it without. There are 2 shoulder straps and four garter straps. The corset comes with a matching thong. Attached to the corset was a cardboard tag that has a photo of a model wearing the outfit, and states the size, company name and company website. Also attached to the corset was a plastic bag that held a pair of white stockings. I was surprised that there were stockings included since the product page didn’t mention this.



The corset and thong are 100% polyester. There really isn’t any stretch to the corset, though the width can be adjusted by loosening/tightening the ribbon lacing down the centre back. The stockings are 87% nylon and 13% elastic fibre. I’ve taken measurements of the piece laying flat and the ribbon was done up as it was when it arrived. The lace was done up so there would be no skin showing through (tightest fit). If you need additional measurements, please send me a message and I can get them for you.

The corset has hook and eye closures down the centre front of the piece. There are 19 hook and eyes. There are 8 plastic boning pieces in the corset; 4 at the front, 2 in the back, and 1 down each side. The inner material to the corset is soft and comfortable against the skin. I was unable to wear the corset due to the lack of width but I rubbed the material against my skin and did not experience any scratchy feelings or irritation.

The black lace accents run along the top front of the corset, the bottom front, and at the centre. The trim does not run around the entire corset (none in the back). The trim is approximately 1 ¾ inches in length. There are 2 black bows at the bottom of the corset. There is 9 ½ inches between them.

There is no padding or underwire in the chest area. The material is quite thin so you’ll need to wear nipple pasties or a similar item underneath the corset so that your nipple outline does not show through the material. The included thong is basic and white in colour. There is a liner in the thong.



The garters that were attached to the corset when it arrived are 2 different styles. The 2 garters in the front have a loop design running down the sides of them, and the 2 back garters are regular and plain. The garters, as well as the shoulder straps, are detachable so you do not need to wear them if you’d prefer not to. The loops to attach them to are on the inside of the corset.



The lacing down the centre back of the corset, when laced tightly (no skin showing), leaves 20 inches of ribbon left for width adjusting. The ribbon can be replaced by a longer piece of lace or ribbon if you need more width. I wasn’t able to take photos of me wearing the piece because the ribbon only provided 1 ½ inch width when fully loosened so I was unable to actually do the corset up in the front. I need more width so once I have a long enough ribbon, I will replace it and try and have photos in the follow-up review.

The included stockings are sheer white. The band at the top of the stockings is a double layer of material. Unstretched, the band is 3 ½ inches wide and 1 ¼ long. When I stretched the band as much as I could, the width was 13 inches. The band does roll and they will fall down your leg/thigh if you do not use the garters with them.



The care tag in the corset states that it should be dry cleaned only. The thong should be hand washed in cold water and line dried. I’ve given the corset a 4 out of 5 because it is pretty and seems to be quite comfortable (the inner material) against the skin. I’ve deducted a star because the ribbon the provided is so short that it only allows for a maximum width of 1 ½ inch when loosened as much as it can be. If you need more width like I do, you’ll need another, longer piece of lace.
