Knee length dress - dress discontinued by DreamGirl - review by Illusional

I, for one loving trying out new products. It can be pretty exciting, thank you Eden! Anyways, this is a new dress from Dreamgirl. Called the Knee Length Dress, this hot little number is the first clubwear/party wear available for plus sizes. Literally if you go to Sexy Lingerie, then click Clothing it's in there with actual clothing. The reason I say actual clothing is cause I have reason to believe this is NOT meant for actual wear outside. I suppose you COULD wear this outside if you were bold enough but I have to assume this is not meant for actual hitting the club events. Also, this is what the box itself says:


Sorry it's a little blurry, it is a cellphone camera. However, it says "Microfiber low neckline knee length chemise with back embroidery detail and matching thong." Chemise, huh? According to Webster's Dictionary: a
1. woman's loose-fitting, shirtlike undergarment.
2. (in women's fashions) a dress designed to hang straight from the shoulders and fit loosely at the waist, sometimes more tightly at the hip.

This dress is neither of these and I certainly don't intend to wear my undergarments as "clubwear". On EdenFantasys product pages, it mentions in the description that the dress is "sleepwear". So right off the top, I'm a little agitated. I wanted some sexy streetwear, but this is something I'm supposed to wear inside. If you guys were already aware, sorry to sound so upset about it.

In any case, false advertising makes Illusional frustrated. Anyways, I ordered the plus size from Dreamgirl and their sizing is as such:

So, bust wise there's really no issue here. It's kind of roomy for me. The biggest problem is lack of underwire and since the back is so low there's really not much of a bra you could wear. I think if you have perky smaller tits, this would be gorgeous and quite sexy. My waist is a little too much and I've got a huge butt, so this dress really wouldn't be worn out solo. I would probably wear it with some leggings and heels if I ever chose to wear this outside. I'd make it a tunic or something. So, so you guys can see the damage here is a few pictures of me wearing the dress.


That's the front of it. So, there's some saggage and definitely some muffin top cause my waist is a little too chunky. It doesn't cling to any of my fat rolls so that's nice. This dress is very breathable which I like. It is also not knee length, but I'm 5'11. The little bit of spandex in here helps a lot, the dress doesn't just hang but it also doesn't cling to every fatroll I have.



Uuuugh, fat rolls. So, yeah. I have some back fat but this is realistically how it looks. I suppose if I kept my arms up all night and kept dancing, it would look sexier but no. Despite the back flab, the dress doesn't look too shabby. Although I could be biased cause I'm in love with the back embroidery! It is gorgeous and intricate, very feminine and sensual. The embroidery is pretty big which I love, cause I'm broad shouldered with wide back span. So this design doesn't look itty bitty and sucked into my rolls. You could see obviously that again, this dress is NOT knee length for me. My older sister who is 5'6 tried it on and it wasn't knee length on her, but it stopped right above her knee caps, so there's hope for those of you who are shorter. She tried it on with a bra, and said it was cute but realistically you couldn't wear one. You could get some boob tape maybe, but I didn't have any. This "dress" also comes with a thong and like most Dreamgirl's thongs they either fit amazingly or are ridiculously off. This one fit fine, no drama. I would use the thong before probably wearing this dress again.

Another issue I had was when bending over, my breasts do shift. So, I would be scared to wear this out braless with fear of my girls flashing everyone. This little black dress is made out of microfiber and spandex, so care for this item isn't entirely difficult. I would handwash this in tepid water and hang it to dry. The lightness of this material means the dress should dry all the quicker, but if you DO put it in the dryer, make sure it's very low heat. The tag will actually say "90% Polyester and 10% Spandex". With a little assistance from Antipova and GirlWithFire and the internets, I discovered that microfiber is a kind of polyester, what makes it so special is the tiny or micro fibers so that it is softer than other polyester. So, just a heads up in case you were confused like I was.






I'm not completely opposed to this dress. I just don't think I'll be wearing it out as clubwear or as intended, really. I do love the soft quality material, no frayed ends, anything like that. Gorgeous and it's soft to the touch, I did Dreamgirl did a decent job. I would really love to play it up and wear it out, with some jeans or leggings for a sexy look but it won't be worn alone. I really do hope Eden gets real clubwear for us plus sized ladies!
